5 or 6 years ago LSU was having campus tryouts DURING THE SEASON, struggling to have 10 players on the roster.

Now they're in the Final Four. Who gives a crap what she wears. She can coach and, news flash, coaching matters more than looks...

I agree - she’s earned the right to wear whatever the heck she wants to. I personally find it entertaining. They’re having a big time in Baton Rouge!

She's a horrible person who asked a player to not discuss their sexual orientation so she could win basketball games. She's a scum bag.

Was that ever confirmed? Not being argumentative I just didn’t know if BG ever spoke out on it. With Baylor being a Christian school is it possible she was trying to protect them? Anyway… the players at LSU sure do seem to love her.

Her team blew a 17-point lead against us and only won their first game due to home cooking. Bailed out in second round by missed Utah free throws with seconds left.
I hate this should woulda type stuff. And if Flaujae had a pulse and made a wide open shot, it doesn’t come down to it. Utah had their shot and blew it.

Like it or not, they are in a final four. They got fortunate with the Miami upset of Indiana but all this further proves is how hard it is to actually get there. If it were that easy, not all these higher seeds would be losing like they have this year. We are now experiencing parity and it will be increasingly difficult for everyone to get to a final four

Seems like I'm in the minority, but I like LSU, Mulkey and Reese. I'm envious of LSU's run, but I'm genuinely happy for them. Kim got a LOT of grief for that non-conference schedule, but she took that criticism all the way to the Final Four (so far). I appreciate and enjoy Kim's over-the-top personality and her trademark "bold" fashion choices. Yes, her Louisiana truth-mouth often gets her in trouble, but the way I see it, we all have something that's our bugaboo.

As for her asking Griner to not be so public about her sexual orientation, I am, again, in the minority in that I can easily understand how KM could actually have been trying to spare BG a different kind of pain. Yes, Kim, as a heterosexual woman who had lived most of her sports life in the generation that lived by the rule that great female athletes and coaches did not DARE be out of the closet, it was simply the unspoken rule until fairly recently! Add to it that Baylor, as a "Christian university," had an explicit rule against open homosexuality, and that makes me think that Griner, while deserving of love and acceptance and not to be expected to hide her true self, may also have misunderstood the motive -- albeit tragic -- behind Kim's suggestion she not open that can of worms.

Kim was very likely trying, in the only way her own experience had taught her, to save Griner from receiving any more abuse than she already was receiving WITHOUT coming out.

Could it have been handled better? You bet your @ss it could have! But I will never believe Mulkey was ONLY thinking of herself when she gave Griner that bad advice. And I imagine if she knew then what she knows now, she'd have been supportive of BG being as out as she wanted to be.

Flame away!

P.S. Y'all. Please go easier on Reese. Yes, she's over-the-top and seemingly egotistical, but consider the possibility that she may very well be overcompensating for something painful/embarrassing.

That's all. 🥹

Missing the point. The poster was (once again, no surprise) bashing our coaching staff by saying that Mulkey "coaches her team to win" while ours evidently doesn't. That ignores facts.

Mulkey's wins are primarily due to her reputation as a three-time NC winner attracting talent through the portal (Reese, Williams, Morris). Ironically, Reese's former team made the Final Four, just as Dorka Juhasz's former team did. LSU steamrolled lesser teams in the regular season and piled up wins; well, we steamrolled our first two tournament opponents by over 45 points each. LSU pulled out some difficult home wins this year against lesser opponents. We split the season against them. We finished third in the same conference but ahead of them in the conference tournament. We've seen LSU's offensive execution, and it fails to impress (similar to ours).

The point is that there doesn't seem to be a huge disparity in coaching ability between Mulkey and Harper as the poster would have us believe. One can argue that she is able to recruit much better, whether due to her credentials or to NIL influence (Reese leads both men and women in total number of endorsements). And, yes, recruitment is a vital point of coaching. But the poster implied that her coaching ability (strategy, preparation, adjustments) are vastly superior to our coaches'. And I just haven't seen that. LSU has just out-talented most of their opponents. We're familar with that since it is a part of our history, too. No doubt that Mulkey can motivate, but I'm not hearing people gush about her in-game adjustments or amazing schemes. What has she done that is so innovative?

Kim has never been a great offensive coach. Her teams are built around elite defense and rebounding. I don’t think she has very good players offensively at this point in her career at lsu but their D has definitely been impressive this post season. They held Michigan, Utah and Miami all 20+ points below their season averages. They likely get smoked in the final four but their D and rebounding have taken them to where they are now. You win with what you have I guess

Truthfully their roster isn’t all that great this year but somehow have made it work. They have 9 new players and most of those players outside of Reese, Ladazhia, Flaujae and Smith aren’t good at all.
