After reading recently that Reese didn't meet the requirements to be able to be considered for the Naismith NPOY award, I had an epiphany about her and am actually pulling for her to do well. Like Amb said, the entire persona is an act, but my gut tells me that she is overcompensating for something painful and/or embarrassing. Send positive thoughts her way. 🥹

You don't win three NC with three different groups unless you know your stuff. No question about that.

And I'll throw in another compliment toward Mulkey to balance what I said earlier. Although she has long been known for her colorful outfits, the over-the-top flamingo look seemed to quite possibly be a deliberate choice to take some of the negative public attention away from her players. Her attire was the talk of the media and fans rather than finger-lickin' barbie. I'm sure it also had the effect of settling nerves on a young team and gave them a welcome, comical distraction. If that was the case, it's a smart move by a seasoned coach. Auriemma has been known to pull the same antics on the sideline and in pressers.

We don't have room to talk , I remember Diamond DeShield and her crew raw and unadulterated criticisms bout UT policy and cultural atmosphere.
It wasn't good baby.

That was years ago, a coach ago, and a whole culture change ago. So we have room to talk.

Mulkey indicated last weekend that the outfit thing has sort of gotten away from her. She has stylists who come up with them and she doesn't even see them until they arrive. Of course the stylists are trying to outdo themselves every game and it seemed like Kim was a little tired of it all. I'm sure she'll have a doozy for Sunday but I bet she tones back down to her go to flea market sparkly jackets next season.
