Don't forget, just because a player meets NCAA and SEC qualifications for admission, doesn't mean they meet Dr Cheeks floating admission guidelines. (See Orlando Brown, Starting RT OTackle for Oklahoma) There are others playing in the SEC who wanted to play for the VOLS..and according to the NCAA and the SEC they could, but noy to Jimmy Cheeks standard..

Certainly when you "part ways" with your DC then pay his buy-out something smells within. Probably personal, but why does a guy work to get his defense to this point (highest point in 10 years) then just "part ways". Would you "part ways" with Shy and Kahil? I'm sure we will be fine buts its not all sunshine and rainbows over on the hill.

I agree, Pro style QB, he had legs. However, Clemson's offense is the same as UT's.....so, I did not get that piece of the puzzle.

The not fitting the system stuff is nonsense. Butch and his staff are not taking commitments from athletes that can't play in their systems.

I am absolutely comfortable with Butch and the leadership in Knoxville right now. Butch has a plan (b-b-b), the coaches and staff are producing (aka this season outcome), the team has great student-athletes (grades & not beer bottle throwing), and changes are being made to improve (DC). It's the VolNation side show that concerns me.

It's going to be fine... looking forward to NSD and the 2016 championship drive. GBO!

You guys in a foul mood today or what? NOW WHO'S OVERREACTING? lol Jesus, didn't know Id be crucified for being worried or alarmed at the amount of recruits de-committing the past month or so. Its a good thing that I care!

First of all, Jesus was crucified. You aren't getting crucified. Second, your worries didn't come to fruition in that post 2 years ago. These threads make me think someone is looking for attention. If you truly know how recruiting works, especially under Butch Jones, you will let it play out. Good day.

I looked on one of the recruiting websites last night (I think Rivals) and none of our coaches are even in the top 100 for "top recruiters". Lots of schools have several in the top 100. I think Thig was in the 130s going off memory. This is not a good year thus far. I hope it turns around, but we are usually in a much better position with Butch at this time of year. And the number of recruits that we can take is NOT the problem as too many folks on here incorrectly indicate. Some of the top schools in the rankings have around the same numbers as we have thus far.

1. This thread is incredibly late. Kongbo has been decommitted for a while now. If you were looking to make an alarmist thread, you should have done it then.

2. Besides DCG and Kongbo, the other decommits were gitshirts. There are multiple moving pieces in this class and unlike previous years a lot of our high profile guys aren't committing until NSD.

3. All the excessive punctuation and capitalization makes you seem like some prepubescent girl that wishes to be showered with attention. Added to this fact that you have already made this exact same thread two years ago-- in what was a top 5 class-- it makes this thread even more dumb. If you are going to do stupid things don't be butthurt when people calm you out on it.

Players are only human. They want to go where they can get the best opportunity to showcase their skills for the NFL.
