This guy is clearly racist, can you imagine the firestorm if this guy had been white and took only white students on a trip?

I disagree, as a leader of a school you can't seperate and divide students especially along racial lines. He has to treat every student as an individual.

This certainly smells of "separate, but equal" (which never was, BTW) from a reverse angle.

I can guarantee you that Sharpton and Jackson would be on the red eye enroute to organize another march.

I'm with you on this. Because society as a whole tends to laud accommodation of the less fortunate (poor, minorities, etc.), I would not be surprised if he thought these actions would be celebrated rather than condemned.

I think when the black president was elected, this positive "you can do anything you wanna do even if you're black" was realized. I'm so sick of it. Blacks are way more racist than whites are and most blacks I work with are very happy to confirm this. They are lucky to even be in this country. Good God, If blacks were half as grateful as Mexican people... Which is worse Africa or Mexico? Mexicans see their jacked up country and want better for themselves and families swimmin across shark infested waters and sneaking under fences. Blacks today have NO idea what it is like to live in a f'in hut and have flies, diamond and drug murderers and AIDS everywhere. I say "You're Welcome."

I think a good bit of blacks are racist and white liberals are maybe the most racist. White liberals love to beat into the heads of blacks that they are victims and a lot of blacks buy into it.

I was thinking about Cubans when I wrote that, so I guess I should have said Hispanics. There's been a lot of Mexican talk so it just came out that way. But thanks for being an ass anyways :)

That is exactly what I was telling this black guy I work with. I asked him why he was a Dem and he said b/c Republicans don't do anything to help out black folks. I just told him he was soooo totally snowed if he believed that.

it's sad that people think that handouts are in reality helping his people. Dr King is rolling over in his grave.

Liberals make sure that a lot of minorities and some dumb and lazy white people stay on the gov't dime so that they will have a non stop voting block. There will never be a stop to this, these people on the tax payer's dime have multiple kids and for the most part inherit their parents line of thinking (or lack there of) and then they have kids, it will never stop.

As to the story, its too bad. The principle of a group of students organized to promote a sense of self-esteem and encouragement is of course a great idea. But you can't make it exclusive. And you certainly can't berate students for complaining when you do.

The letter he sent home after the controversy is decent. Hope he has learend a valuable lesson. But if he in fact yelled at students who criticized it, he has to go, IMO.

Perhaps this principal should have completely forgotten about the field trip and skipped directly to the sending a letter home to underachieving students and their parents. A field trip does nothing to address the needs that are not being met, a letter home just might, of coarse we would then had parents complaining and he would still be under fire but at least he would be getting to the root of the problem.

I truly think their intents are far less malicious. I believe many politicians believe these programs not only help, but are necessary. Unfortunately, they do not understand how a huge welfare state leads to long-term problems.
