the Republicans did get back to the center- they just call themselves the Democratic Party now. Thanks Bill Clinton

Would love to discuss the “moderate” comment. In order to moderate, wouldn’t policy or at least ideology need to exist on a compatible continuum? What areas of policy even remain between the two parties that can be watered down into moderation? Infrastructure? Even that seems dead on the floor every time it comes up for vote
How do you join in 2014 and not make a single post till now?

BREAKING: Texas GOP: Perhaps Law-Abiding States Should ‘Form Union’ That Will ‘Abide By Constitution’

In reaction to the Supreme Court dismissing a lawsuit from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to overturn presidential election results in four states, the state’s Republican Party Chairman Allen West posed, “Perhaps, law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution.”

The SCOTUS decision “establishes a precedent that says states can violate the U.S. Constitution and not be held accountable,” the Republican said. “This decision will have far-reaching ramifications for the future of our constitutional republic.”

No... it’s 7-2. Thomas and Alito said they should hear it the rest said they shouldn’t. That’s it. There is no 9-0 people are taking liberties with that. When it was first announced and I read it that’s what I thought but then of course in the victory lap here they stated a bunch of misleading crap.
Yes but the "no relief" means they would not have acted on delaying the electors from being selected or anything else. So essentially, yea we have no problem hearing it, but it wouldn't change anything.

And something like THIS is what I was pondering in my ruminating on what the long game was. Not this exactly but wondering what their next play was.

You aren’t a moderate you all are radical communists
Not even worth the trouble to debate the likes of you. I know my record in 50 years of voting and that is for reasonable minds. Something that is missing from the Republican Party these days. Until they move back to the middle, they’ve lost me.

I’m gonna dispute that as more victory lap innuendo. I think Carlos did the usual misspeak saying 9-0. Why in the hell would a justice say ok I’ll hear it and here is how I’m gonna rule before I hear it.

Reminder before you reply. I said this wasn’t going to pass.

Good lord. And this is how strongmen keep going and dragging everyone tricked or intimidated by him along and take down a great republic and turn it into an unstable state. Embarrassing they would even say this. What has happened to the GOP under Trump?!? Bunch of cucks for that guy, save some of them.

It would appear that they are all saying “this isn’t working out. Hey it’s nobody’s fault but maybe we should get a divorce.”

And that was actually very clear but you’re the jilted wife saying “but can’t we just go back to the way it was?!?!”

Hey it’s not you... ok it is you...

Did you read it? If not suggest you do. You might not change your mind but it will be clear both Thomas and Alito would have slapped it in the face it it was taken on. There is a copy up in this thread

I read it look at the reply right below your post here. What I’m saying is it doesn’t sound right on hearing “ok we’ll hear it but here is how we will rule.” And again I believe it would have lost anyway.

That’s popping on a company phone lol nice!
Funny story. When I first got promoted and they gave me the company car, laptop, and phone my boss gives me the speech about how all of this is monitored and don't be stupid. If you are on a company device and do something questionable it locks up. Forcing you to call IT support. Anyway, my boss later on tells me about how much he liked BJ's over Sam's or Costco. I get home and google searched BJ's. I had to make a call IT support and explain to get my crap unlocked

If TX secedes they better appoint a National AG other than Paxton. One who can understand the U.S. Constitution and also someone who understands (i) TX being at the top of the list of State sovereignty proponents and the irony of opining on other States (II) not have the gall to call out other states for their Covid related election changes when TX did the same . And also maybe not be willing to waste everyone’s time when badly in need of a pardon
