What's really going on with Jannah Tucker?

--I hope nobody has criticized Nared: she's talented and probably has more well-rounded offensive skills than just about anybody on this team. She's still raw, but should be a good/very good player if she keeps working hard on her game.

--RE Cooper: Somebody remind me who was the last really good, genuine point guard we had. I thought Massengale was going to be super--but it didn't happen. She's had a nice career, in some ways, but never became that really good PG I thought she'd be when I saw her as a freshman. I mean, she lost her starting guard to Reynolds--who herself is not a true PG but rather a hybrid 1-2 player.

We have a bit of a problem in that we don't have a true shooting guard on this team--and we won't have one next year, either! We will have four guards--all of whom are probably best suited to PG. If Cooper is good enough to start, she will play with Carter and Reynolds will sub for her--or Cooper could sub for Reynolds. Middleton might not get many minutes unless she shows that she becomes a dependably good shooter.

We should have nice mix of players in our top 8/9 next year, whom I'm sure Warlick will mix and match depending on the opponent and how people are performing.

The expectations are high for Nared. I do believe she needs to be more physical and tenacious on defense. This is the same evaluation that, Hansen, of ESPN, had on Nared in high school.

Nared will have a year of SEC experience going into next season, so hopefully she will be improved both offensively and defensively next season.

Holly has shown by her actions that she favors upper classmen - at least that is my take. Would she start Cooper over Reynolds after investing a lot of time and effort to make Reynolds the starting PG? I don't know, but my guess is that at the beginning of the season Reynolds is the starting PG and Cooper's status/minutes will depend upon what she shows in practice and games. I know, I went way out on a limb with that, didn't I?

From her Fr. to So. year Jordan has shown more growth stepping into the starting PG position. If she continue to work on her shot, then I don't see her losing the starting spot. I like the uptempo, her trying to push the ball on every possession. For me if ain't broke don't fix it. We don't need Cooper to come right in and start. This is not another Massengale situation were you have no one to run the offense. Bring her in off the bench let her get a feel for the game and learn from Jordan.

Cooper will have to be one hell of a true freshman player in order to take Reynolds' job. Don't see that happening next season.

I see Jannah Tucker on Instagram all the time, she looks good. She just posted a pix of her and Cierra Burdick, and Bashaara Graves getting ready to watch the placement of the girls in the NCAA bracket

I will not disagree with you about she needs to be more physical. But she do crash the boards and is a good rebounder. I just think Holly made the mistake not playing her more early on in the season. A lot of the top 15 -20 teams play there Fr a lot. That`s the only way they will get better look at Ohio St.

Before Jasmine Jones got injured it was hard to get her into the game.

Reynolds took a big step this year. She does push pace and she, with her size, is /very good/at taking the ball to the basket, which is a big asset with a guard. On the down side, she is not a great ball handler--decent, but her dribbling can get shaky when she's pressured; she's not really a great distributor...yet, let us say; and she doesn't have the best shot form from distance. She also needs to finish those 7 footers that are her bread-and-butter more consistently. Let's hope she keeps progressing as she's got qualities.

Nared has the potential to be a real scorer, and yet she seems to have good court vision and passes the ball quite well.

I hope Warlick puts Jones at the 4 next year. That's where she belongs, IMO, closer to the basket. She doesn't have enough skill to play on the perimeter--and she'd be much better just catching the ball and shooting in or near the paint. She's got size and can jump and has a decent shot. I think she's got back-to-the-basket scoring potential.

Yea, I think she gets better this being her first year being the starting pg.
With Nared she has to stop settling for jumpers when she has a chance to take her man off the dribble. When she starts to understand that then her potential will be limitless.
I have been calling for Jas in the post forever. With her quickness and jumping ability she could really do some damage there. Swap her and Kortney position, because I don't want Kortney anywhere near the post and don't want Jas anywhere on the perimeter. It will work well for the both of them.

so, we agree Dunbar should have played before Nared, eh? That cat can shoot!

Actually 6-32. She might be a better shooter than what she has shown, but it's hard to see three point shooting ever being a strength of her game....

Actually UT stats show Dunbar has hit 14 of 37 three point attempts this season,a .378 pct. The only Lady Vol shooting a better percentage on three point attempts is Cierra Burdick at .429 or so. Massengale is at .376.
