Whats the latest on Chris Donald?

the media has painted a pretty lame picture of Jimmy. I wonder how his teammates feel about him and what opinion that might have on other recruits being around him for 4 years. like Perrileauxser and Simms.

when jimmy was a soph and a junior, everyone just sort of assumed that he would wear orange because of his brothers and they fact that he attended so many games, as for saying he was a lock it was a gross exageration to make a point. Now, chris leak, he was supposed to be a lock.

Don't forget Chris Leak and Jimmy Clausen have one important thing in common that greatly influenced their choices. They felt that their older brothers were screwed over by UT. True or not, that is the way they saw it.

my hope is that clausen has the same type of success at ND that leak has had at UF, all hype and numbers and no championships

I can assure you that the myspace page (linked on p.6 of this thread) for the user named "#43" is not legit. (Probably an ND fan.)

Notice the zodiac sign--Pisces (i.e. Feb20 - Mar20). Chris was born in November---in the 2003 BC/BS Bowl (played the first week of Dec), the announcers couldn't stop talking about the fact that he'd just "turned 15 a week ago."

Obviously, anything can change in a month, but I've heard there have been very subtle hints that Chris will be a Vol.

Okay. I didn't know if y'all were buying it or not.
Whatever ND fan did it is not good a research either; he's not even #43 (must be a practice jersey in the pic).

Thank you, J_thrill. I just saw that and thought I'd bring it up. Good to hear that it's fake!

That wacky Charlie Weis! He must have slapped this together between roast beefs and not paid close attention. Not roast beef sandwiches. Roast beefs.

I pray that you're right. As for ND, I grew up going to Catholic schools, my high school was called "The Fighting Irish". so everybody I went to school with was a Dome fan except me who bled orange and I will always hate ND, also my dad schooled me on Majors getting robbed for the heisman by hornung on a ND team that only won 3 games, so maybe you can understand why i hate them and the thought of them getting the best prospect in the state of TN makes me want to puke

where did you go?

What we have going for us is that we have a long line of good LBers to play at UT. I am hoping he will recognize this, because he has the potential to be the best ever.

And one of those storied linebackers is Tim Priest from Huntington, Tennessee as well. You know Tim Priest for sure!! He is the call by call color guy on the radio broadcast of Vol Football games. Is it illegal for Tim to get in the mix on recruiting this gem?????

Anyway, I promise you he is hearing a lot about Priest from folks in Huntington. Donald reminds me of Priest. I saw both play in high school games. Losing Donald will be a killer. UT is just supposed to get these in state talents out of loyalty. :shades:

Not to be too much of a stickler, but it's HuntingDon.

What are the rules on Priest talking to Donald? He should carry some weight--he's the only player to have his number (17) retired at Huntingdon.

Rexvol, I wouldnt write off Smith yet. As for Donald, he is very good friends with some UT commits. I would definately think that has some heavy weight into a tie breaker with UT and ND. I am just thinking like a recruit would. Although I wasnt a top 50 player or anything, I was recruited pretty hard out of highschool for soccer. Where your friends go is very important especially if you like the team to begin with.

Sure, it's usually about comfort level, but with Smith I think his parents are pushing ND and that's tough for a young man., I do think Donald is a VOL.

I know I'm not the only one who can't wait until Jan. 6 when Vol Nation will finally find out where Chris Donald will be an All-American. Hopefully he'll remain a Tennessee boy, but I don't feel that it's a lock.
