I saw South Carolina and LSU win with Mark 'Phil Fulmer' Richt losing. Whats the conference record at this point?

The SEC is currently 2-1 today with LSU and USCe winning and Georgia losing
Texas A&M beat Duke
Ms St beat the hell outta Rice
Ole Miss beat GaTech

The SEC is 5-1

Tomorrow watch for bama and Oklahoma!

Just because we have sucked in the best league over the past few years doesnt mean that you should wish for the league to get worse - thats the attitude of losers not winners. I want UT to be the best in the SEC, whose teams destroy all other teams in the country. For the rest of you, maybe you need to go become a fan for a Mountain West or a Mid American team instead of urinating on the throne upon which you desire our team to sit.

Who wants their rivals to get stronger? It's not like people will think the SEC sucks if we lose bowl games. That "rah rah SEC rah rah!" crap is just silly. How does LSU beating Iowa help us out?

"But if the SEC wins all their games it helps us"

Still haven't figured how its helped us yet

No one says that exactly. We want to be in a strong conference, so that when our team does go 5-7, opposing fans don't laugh at us near as much when they see our tough schedule. I'd hate to suck in the B10. Heck, i'd hate to be good in the B10 cuz you still suck.

Its not a matter of rival being stronger. Since OOC games aren't extremely important (concentrate on winning the conference 1st), the majority of the SEC I will usually pull for when they play OOC-depending on the circumstance.

I find it humorous if the SEC beats each other up, everyone goes 9-3 at best ande they still consistently beat OOC "big dogs". I want to beat the best and lose to the best. That's why I want the SEC strong as a whole.

Of course, I hope Georgia (who did lose), Florida, Vandy and Bama to lose every OOC game and bowl.

It's also a matter of that I hate the Big 10 teams and Oklahoma and Texas etc... I not only like Tennessee the best, but I like the SEC the best. I like LSU and Auburn and Miss St and Ole Miss...

Bottom line again, I WANT TO BEAT THE BEST AND ONLY LOSE TO THE BEST.

At least we can still pay for mediocre coaching

JMO but a lot of your posts really stink lately.

So tired of this repetitive negative BS for Butch and his staff when they're 12 months into fixing a program that has been broken since 2008.

I'm not gonna label you a NegaVol or anything else, but it is like your expectations for 2013 were completely unrealistic - or am I missing something?

We beat a ranked (end of year top 10) team for the first time since 2009.

Best recruiting class in >10 years. Why all the hate?

This.

Vol fans please stop with rooting for our biggest competitors! When they do good it hurts our vols. Many on here were excited Aub made it to the BCS then we have a recruit flip to them. I hope every SEC team loses their bowl game!

Not sure if serious.

It's not so much rooting for SEC teams, it's how excited some seem to get about it. Kind of like bragging that your better looking friend gets a lot of girls.

Most of the "opposing" fans I hear from are the ones that beat us by 4 tds.

Unless I move north of the MD it would be difficult to care about the rest.

Wow! Didn't realize so many yankees had moved down here amongst us. Our losing records makes them want to root against our SEC brethren.

Its just as important for the SEC to be strong as it is for UT to be strong. Us against them....outsiders that is. Couldn't ever be against the South versus other competition.

5-7 is mediocre

We fired a NC winning coach for 5-7 seasons

It's nothing against Butch. He just needs a better DC and OC

To be the best, you got to beat the best. The best recruits flock to the SEC, even the smurfkitties this year. Why is that? I think it's because they get to pay against the best. And that IS one reason thiz years commitment class (yeah, not yet signed ... yada yada) is so outstanding. The SEC has for many years been winning the national recruiting battle and part of that is the bowl record, not just regular season. We get recognition, $, and recruits.
