What would be even more ridiculous is teaching that America is a color blind society and that skin color has never had an impact on an individual's ability to succeed.
And ignoring the fact that the single biggest predictor of a child's success is the success of their parents.

There is a logical third way, acknowledge the clear historical and ongoing impact of racism whilst simultaneously encouraging a constant and unwavering commitment to color blindness going forward. Or do you pessimistically believe that the future is an unalterably deterministic outcome of the past? If so, why even care or bother about what is taught since the game is already hopelessly “rigged”? What do you hope to “accomplish” exactly?

Hillary will never see the inside of a physical prison cell. But she is subject to the inescapable sentence that is even more terrible and terrifying. She is forced to live 24 x 7 x 365 with Hillary Clinton. She cannot escape the misery that it has to be being who she is. Disagreement and compromise between what exactly? I am genuinely confused. Either we are color blind or we are not color blind. Wouldn’t any compromise whatsoever entail some degree of being NOT color blind (which by definition is racism) ie the very evil of the last 400 years of American history that we are ostensibly trying to undo?

Not being color blind is by definition racism? I'm not sure what definition you are using.

Maybe I'm confused as to what exactly you mean by "encouraging".
What does that "encouragement" look like? (This is where you will likely find disagreement and a need for compromise.)

The FBI UCR table 43 'Arrests by Race and Ethnicity relies on actual arrests; 2018' shows that of Drug Abuse Violations arrests (1,234,178), Whites were 50% (minus Hisp/Latinos racially included as White), Blacks were 27%, and Hisp/Lat were 20%. That's a far cry from the graph you presented.

'Usage' is determined solely via survey by SAMHSA to the question of "have you used XXX in the past month, and past year". It reveals nothing about frequency or length of usage. It also say nothing about where, how and whom you use and/or buy from, and there are differences between blacks and whites. There are studies indicating minority groups, none more than blacks, under-report and even deny usage, even when it is accompanied by hair and urine analysis and do the same re: criminally delinquent activity generally.

To default to 'racism' ignores the obvious; that poor urban neighborhoods have higher crime and that urban poverty centers have high black populations. By necessity, these areas are rightfully given more police attention and the majority of black people do not want fewer police there, but more or at least the same number. They understand what learned outsiders who pretend to speak for them do not, because they LIVE there. It's not "just gang-bangers killing each other" but good, black Americans live there, too. And they deserve better than to be invisible under the yoke of predominantly Democrat, Great Society governance making election cycle promises that never had their welfare in consideration, but their political fealty.
