People pay alot of money to go to games. If their money was spent on a garbage product, then they have every right to boo. If the team doesn't want to be booed then they should do better.

Since it’s become tradition to “boo”the starting QB, when will the fans start to be heard?
It’s amazing how quickly our fanbase went from dealing with the complete cluster that was Dooley/Butch/Pruitt to booing players/coaches after 1 good season under Heupel.

I was never sold on us being “back” yet and Heupel for sure being the guy due to 1 great season. Coaches have won a natty and have collapsed and been fired a couple years later.

We didn’t hit the portal hard enough and the roster is weak in some areas due to the rebuild, but Heupel has at least earned some trust for the next 2 seasons, can’t imagine booing him already. And booing players is always off limits for me. Only exception would’ve been that WR under Pruitt
that was laughing after losing to Vandy. He got kicked off the team anyway so I didnt get the chance.

jUST SOMETHING TO ASK YOURSELF: .............How many head coaches (paid multi millions of dollars) will ever admit that their play calling was so vanilla that it spoiled before the game was over. I will never boo the Vols but, I sure will complain when we are not given an adequate chance to win the game by stupid play calling. Same 4 or 5 plays were ran the entire game last week.
Most of us would never know. 🤭 I am confident there isn't anyone on this board who has been paid millions to coach. I'm speculating that in most cases, coaches aren't going to reveal, specifically, their game plans to reporters and/or fans publicly. In case you didn't know it, most offensive game plans revolve around 10-12 actual plays from a couple of handfuls of alignments. That's what the best offensive minds do every game. The list is rather long of great coaches who use such a model. Now you know

Much as Milton pisses me off at times it’s a poor reflection on the program and you as a fan. It’s not going to do anything to help the program.
And I refuse to judge Milton until I see him get adequate protection from the OL

I feel that the jury is still out as far as Heupel is concerned. Is he going to be our Jimbo?

I still feel confident in the coaching staff, however, if something isn't done about Martinez,
he could be Heupel's achilles heel.

Let's see where we stand after Oct. is done before casting stones.

Seems likely we will depart with Martinez this offseason.

Yes. There is always gonna be a point where your mind can be changed about coaches.

I've read many articles detailing how our OL is not being developed, our db's have made no
progress, our players may not be being utilized properly, (Dylan, Mincey, etc). So yeah, I have
become somewhat of a fence straddler for now. If we can pull out a win over Bama or Ga and get
wins over Ky and S.C. , then I would get down off the fence.

I do not think 7-5 would keep be on the coaching bandwagon. Is 8-4 asking too much? Is 7-5 asking too little?

I would hope never. Nothing more classless than booing your own team. Such a bad look. Even if you disagree with their play, these players are for the most part a good group of young men and in this day and age that’s far more important than football when you look at the bigger picture.

Right friggin now the blue bird should start!!! A whole flock of them. They should fly around and poop on everything that looks like they could possibly be from Texas.

I expect before the end of the first quarter, just because so many today are internet-conditioned to instant gratification, and there's enough of our Scots-Irish DNA still floating around East Tennessee that will hold and voice their grudge from last week's denial of gratification.

Boos will be heard the first time USTA completes a pass on Hadden. And heaven help the boy if he earns a pass interference call or misses a tackle!

It'll be the same if Milton gets sacked, overthrows a pass, or a receiver drops a pass, and if two consecutive runs net less than 4 yards.

You could probably find odds on each in Vegas today.

As for small-eyed, big-footed refs... what's the over/under for mustard bottles today?

Revisionist history there. He also hit Squirrel on a bomb and threw a 20 yd dart across the middle to Bru for a TD that was in a 2 ft window. I by no means am saying he is elite, but you and others here trot out your negative narratives the minute you get a chance. Petty at best
My first thought immediately. The throw the Bru was an NFL throw for sure!

Idk. Hooker had less than adequate protection at times too. Milton isn’t Hooker, maybe he could be decent if given time and protection but I don’t think the offense believes in him honestly. Idk that we have a better option though unless the line is fixed.

I’ve never booed a player. But, I have joined in the chorus of boos in reference to play calling, and dumb coaching. Problem is — there is a chance the players didn’t know who was being booed.

But Dooley, Jones, and Pruitt earned their boos along the way.

Wonder if the university would rather have 100k booing periodically in the stands, or 70k friendlies sitting on their hands in silence?
You are very correct that when the fans boo any aspect if the team, it affects the moral of the whole team. Booing a tram that is 2-1 and looking to get some traction and momentum is beyond counterproductive.
