1967 season. Doug Dickey had turned the corner in rebuilding the program, leading us to eight-win seasons in 1965 and '66, and victories in the Bluebonnet and Gator Bowls, respectively. The '66 Gator Bowl was the first game that I have vivid memories of; we gave up nearly 300 yards to future Hall of Famers Larry Csonka and Floyd Little, but beat Syracuse 18-12. In '67, we beat Bear Bryant and Alabama for the first of four successive victories over the Tide and Dickey led the big Orange to his first SEC title.

You know, I've always been confident in my status as a true VFL, but my unwavering devotion throughout the forsaken Dooley Era has removed any and all doubt. I'm a lifer.

I did not grow up like most kids in the South.
Neither of my parents were into sports but I always loved Football. My freshman year of high school my best friend turned me onto Tennessee football and taught me all the amazing traditions and great players who have played there. I fell in love with a girl from Tennessee and we took a trip to Knoxville together. It was then that I walked on the field of Neyland Stadium for the first time and I knew that I would never love another college football team. That was 16 years ago. Now me and that lovely Tennessee bride of mine and I have four children who all bleed Orange! Brick By Brick This Vol nation will Rise to the Top again! God bless our Tennessee's family

Growing up in Knoxvegas I've been a part of big orange nation since day one. I was a fairly casual fan early on, but watching the '85 Sugar Bowl on TV with my dad and bros changed all that.

I was 9 and it seems like forever ago.. but I can still see my dad jumping up & down and nearly hitting his head on the ceiling fan when Jeff Powell was in the middle of that 60 yd TD run. Ahh the memories ..

Ever since that day I've been a straight-up VFL.. GBO!!
