When you knew you were a Vol Fan.

By some of these answers on here perhaps the question should have been rephrased.

When I watched the Manning Bootleg on Alabama Live... I knew I was a Vol then. I moved here from Europe in 1993, my Dad was a minister and we lived in Florida, Ohio, Bama, Germany, then Tennessee. I am VFL. No doubt!

Dad moved on and now lives in Florida. I am here in Tennessee. I love it here and will wear orange till the day I die. GBO.

i did not grow up like most kids in the south.
Neither of my parents were into sports but i always loved football. My freshman year of high school my best friend turned me onto tennessee football and taught me all the amazing traditions and great players who have played there. I fell in love with a girl from tennessee and we took a trip to knoxville together. It was then that i walked on the field of neyland stadium for the first time and i knew that i would never love another college football team. That was 16 years ago. Now me and that lovely tennessee bride of mine and i have four children who all bleed orange! Brick by brick this vol nation will rise to the top again! God bless our tennessee's family

nice

Always been vfl, born that way. I do remember as a kid seeing a game on tv (which was rare) and asking my dad in complete shock why we didn't run through the "T" to start the game. He replied that we couldn't do that for road games. I thought that was so wrong, still do.

I transferred from USCe and became a full-time student here and immediately fell in love! Unfortunately my arrival coincided with Phil's departure, so I'm anxiously awaiting the glory days ahead! My son is growing up full VFL!

2002 Arkansas was when it started, but 2004 Florida was the clincher... First UT-UF game I clearly remember watching, and I can still see my 7 or 8 year old self jumping up and down when Wilhoit's 50 yd field goal split the uprights... Great game. (Of course we haven't beaten them since)

always was a Vol fan since we lived in Knoxville, parents were alums with season tickets, etc. I guess I turned into a die-hard when I decided at 10yo to lug cokes up and down the steps just so I could watch the games. That was the 85 season and it was pretty special

In high school in Alaska watching Andy Kelly throw the ball all over the yard.

When I was 5, was watching the 89' UT/AL game with my grandfather and he sat me on his knee, he went on to say "son, you are not supposed to hate anything in life, but, during football season you hate the color crimson"
We went 11-1 that season and I have hated crimson ever since.

iirc, the only blemish was that darned crimson one

Being a Vol fan is not a choice, I was born this way.
