Where are the Prince supporters/apologizers..?

So we're now letting our players determine what is and isnt a "big" game?

So you're saying they'll start playing good in the dance once they get to the second game or second weekend?

That's how 13 seeds oupset 4 seeds, or 15 seeds play with 2 seeds COUGH ::American:: COUGH ::Winthrop::

You have yet to present an arguement to support your bashing of Prince. Instead, you are riding a team effort and team mentality and giving that a face in JP. Its sad when a self proclaimed "#1 fan" bashes his own team and its players around senior night. Get a life kid.

Because he's the one who's bold enough to actually admit this stuff, so it would only imply he's the worst at it. And if there's one player who the MOST inconsistent, it's him. Playing great one game and then playing a wash game the next.

So we won't have to worry about this type of thing occuring once he's gone?

Once again, how many games that we have lost has been a direct result of Prince's play?

And do you think this team is fighting for a 3-5 seed if he's not on the team? Personally, I think we're a 19-10, 18-11 type club on the bubble if he's not on the team.

We won. I still don't understand why you are upset. Prince is a great player. He is our best defender. You may not miss him but you are definitely in the minority. It also sounds like this was the mindset for everybody on the team. Why are you not upset at Chism or Maze? I'm tired of these "fans" that find something to complain about after every game. Get over yourself.

We won, so what? The goal of a season is to grow as a basketball and perform at the best of your ability. It's March and Prince was quoted yesterday with saying they let players score lay ups? WTF? I can't be upset about that? In a close game they're letting opposing players score layups and admitting it? Serious discipline issues that may not cost you a loss to a horrible Arkansas team but WILL most certainly get you bounced from the tournament early if you allow it to continue to happen. Which will inevitably happen because of this teams "play when we wanna play" mindset.

You go ahead, live in your bubble with your bottomless cup or orange kool-aid and be happy with a first round scare to a no body team followed up by a loss to a team we should have beat. But that’s not for me and I know I’m not alone in this…

It's possible because ultimately that's on Pearl for allowing his players to perform in such a manner. It's one thing for the players to play this way, it's another for a player to publically admit it, that shows Pearl has little influence on the player. IMO, Prince should be suspended for his comments. Because, again, it reflects directly on CBP's discipline, or lack thereof.

As far as the seeding, 10-14 seeds upset better teams all the time, why...? Because they're hungry and the team they played wasn’t and overlooked them. I'd rather be a 8-10 seed with a team playing with heart and giving their all then a 4 seed that plays down to their ability.

...then you must also love it when Tennessee loses earlier in the NCAA tournament then they should, correct?

How long have you been a Tennessee fan, dude? Clearly not long enough to remember the days of Tony Harris, Ron Slay, Marcus Haislip, Vincent Yarborough, CJ Watson, etc. Good players and NIT caliber teams. If you remembered those times, then you would realize that what Pearl has done in 5 measly years is nothing short of miraculous.

Tennessee is now a perennial top 20 team. A few early losses in the tournament and some are ready to crucify Pearl. How quickly they forget that he's the only reason we are there in the first place.

So you would rather have no JP Prince and possibly go to the NIT rather than have JP Prince on the team with the potential to make a run in the tournament?

You've sold me. Pearl’s a great coach with no short comings. He runs a tight ship and we should be happy with simply making it to the NCAA's even if we're out early with talent that should have allowed them to last another game or so... my bad.

There is no way you can come to the conclusions you have by what JP stated. I heard his comments and then read them again a little while ago. It's not that bad and you are spending way too much energy making accusations and assumptions that aren't even close to being accurate. You sound as though you are anti-Pearl and are pathetically trying to use JP's interview to support your uninformed opinions on Pearl. Guess what??? It isn't working and you are flat out wrong with your post

Have you heard his post game comments from last night? They explain why some of us are excited to see him graduate and why we'll never win a NCAA Championship (or reach the FF) under Bruce Pearls discipline. Sad waste of talent....

When do you graduate from this message board? Let me know, because I'll be there to hand you your diploma...

I would like to see Bruce discinpline his players while on the court of play to get their heads back in the game, Bruce I've watch many games this season, and if you stay inside the paint the vols are a hard team to stop, and sometimes you have to look at your team and ask give me five players who wants to play sometimes this is discipline tool.

We'd make the tournament without JP IMO, Tatum is ready to explode and he doesnt make half the bonehead plays JP does.

Your nothing but azz hole ,I know Prince has his faults but I guess when Tn lose Prince is the reason and if Tn win he not one of the reasons ? Maybe you dont know enough about basketball to even speak your opinion, well thats the way you make yourself look.
Without Prince Tn doesnt make it into the Tourney. He is our best def. player and he has made clutch layups, steals,FTs and if you dont like Prince and cant waite to see him go then thats you but next year you will be wishing he was still a vol.

I completely agree. I have consistently said Prince is a valuable member of this team and makes valuable contributions to our winning. Apparently folks forget about the KY game that we don't win without Prince. Get off the constant bashing and enjoy the ride. Prince has improved as the season has gone on and we would be in big trouble without him. His comments are taken way out of context.

we have been waiting on Tatum to explode since last year.Tatum has had his share of bonehead plays, they all have.Maybe you aand Pearl dont see eye to eye on the JP and Tatum situatuion,if Tatum was better than JP he would be starting and getting more minutes.
maybe you need to set up a meeting with Pearl and explain to him what he needs to do with Tatum and JP.

I could not find a narrative of his interview. Can you post them in this thread? I think it would help clear things up a bit.

Didn't Tatum severely sprain his ankle not too long ago?

Ok.

So we'd have enough quality wins to overlook our roughly 18-11 (w/o JP, no way we beat Kentucky, Kansas, Florida, maybe even Memphis IMO) record and will then be banking on a guy who we've all been waiting to "explode" since he first set foot on campus to make a run through the tournament. All the while running wild through the tournament as a 10-11 seed at best.

Got it.

FTR I'm a huge Bruce Pearl fan and supporter.

Your posts are like clockwork. You show up shortly after a game (win or lose) and start a thread trashing someone.

Your last 3 threads:

1. Where are the Prince supporters/apologizers?
2. Chism, the biggest baby on the planet?
3. New Hopson nickname: Scotty Flopson, Scotty Buston, Scotty Soften, etc...

Let's not forget the "Things that Stephen Pearl does that grinds your gears" thread or the "Wow, Prince did everything he could to lose that game" thread.

You are as regular as my poop.
