We are recruiting Meline as an athlete. I doubt he ends up at receiver and even if that's the thought, I'm sure we're telling recruits otherwise.

I thought his comments sounded as if Tennessee wants him to play wide receiver but he actually prefers playing defense.

That was a 6-7 was the number that was floating around in my head. 2 will be JUCOs. We are in desperate need of some early contributors for next year. Ideal situation is that we have O line recruits that come to campus by winter. 2 JUCO and at least one freshmen would be most helpful for 2010 season

i see on rivals we have a leifheit as a walkon snapper...

tell me he is related to T.J. Leifheit somehow!

athlete means WR unless cobbs or someone else comes aboard

meline's speed will give him a shot at WR though

I know everyone lists Meline as a WR, but he has said he'd rather have his shot at Safety. This fact will not affect us in our pursuit of Cobbs. He will still end up in Knoxville. Even if we do plan to try Meline at WR, it wouldn't make sense to not take a talent like Cobbs. You can NEVER have too much help at RB and WR. He is one of those guys who would come in and make an immediate impact--keeping the new tradition of show up, make plays, and you will be on the field come Saturday...NO matter what class you are in. GO VOLS!!!!

Thats true... But I didn't think he would be able to pull that shot off either. I mean watch in slow motion. He hangs in the air for what seems like 10 secs... and switches from Right to Left hand like it was nothing. I'd have to say it was the most impressive shot I''ve EVER seen :rock:

This may seem like a duplicate to all of those threads about who the remaining recruits will be but it's not...it's just similar...

What I'm interested in is what everyone thinks our priorities are now and how many spots we have at each position...

Here's mine:

QB: None

RB: 1(Dyer is #1 followed by Clement or Bernard)

WR: 1(Cobbs or Stills for this spot)

TE: Possibly 1(D.Mosley if we take one here)

OL: 3 (Stone, Cullen and Clemmons ...we want others beside Clemmons but in the end we go with the in-state boy after being turned down by Robinson/Lefheit/Arieoudijo(sp)

DT: 1 (Quarles or Uko)

DE: 1 (Ferguson is #1 followed by Willis)

LB: 1 (Luc is #1 followed by Shirley or Fhortt)

DB: 2 (Riley is #1 followed by Riggs and then Trimble)

Again, this is very similar to some threads but my main goal is to see what everyone thinks our priorities are at this point

how is this thread any different?

we've had threads on who everyone wants our final 10 to be, we've had threads on who everyone thinks our final 10 will be, we've had threads on who everyone thinks our final 10 should be, we've had threads on who everyone thinks our next commit will be, we've had threads on the fact that OL must be the priority now that we've got a QB

i really don't care about making new threads - i'm just not convinced that there's anything new here (which you had to go out of your way twice to explain)

This thread is differant because all I've see is "I think we get these guys" or "OL should be a priority"...which to me is relatively vague...

I was hoping for specifics...what are the biggest priority positions now and what are the top players we go after (not neccesarily get) at those positions

OL is the highest priority. Cullen, Robinson, Leifheit, Benedict, Silberman, Hurst, Stone, Arie, James. 4 of those guys are committed, but we are still very hard on them behind the scenes...

LB is a priority. We will take at least 1, maybe 2 more. Luc, Fortt, Shirley, Williams...

We will take 1 RB. Seastrunk, Dyer, Brown, Bernard, Clements

We will take at least 1 more on the DL, maybe 2. Quarles, Easley, Chandler, Powell, Willis, Miller, Lemonier, Ego, Martin, King, Hunter

We will take 1 CB if he is a top tier guy. Joyner, Shaw, Riggs, Mitchell, Watkins, Bryant, Hampton

We take 1 safety. Riley, Cooper, Dorsey, Brown

Alot of those guys are long shots, but we will still pursue them hard...

Awesome...thank you...

If I'm reading you right you think it's 3 OL, 2 LB's, 2 DL's, 1 RB, 1 CB and 1 safety...if those numbers are what we end up with then I think its safe to say we filled our needs...

I love seeing our staff set their goals so high....

They are pursuing only the best of the best at every position on that list

I think OL, DL, and LB are high priorities. We really don't even need a TB. We'll be four deep at the position next year(Brown, Oku, Poole, Williams) not a necessity. May take 1 more WR. I think it'll be Cobbs or a speed guy. Mosley is the TE if he comes here. Maybe 1 more LB. 1 CB and 1 S or just 2 safeties and no CBs. Riley probably will be a Vol.

Mack Brown, Kenny Stills, Cody Riggs, Keion Payne. I say watch out for these names seeing as we always pull one out of nowhere.
