Where is Alexa headed? [Alexa Middleton leaving team]

Just to clarify, I have no problem with Alexa transferring, regret, yes, but still respect for her. My post referred to if she had transferred out mid season when we were short handed and needed her. If she had been sitting on the bench and we had bodies to put on the court, then no problem with mid season. (Now my opinion of a starting point guard, with no true back up, on the current number one team transferring out mid season is pretty low...like below dirt.)

As to whether or not Holly made it a nightmare is either speculation or you have some inside info. If the first, would be nice to add "IMO", if the second, would be nice to give basis for the statement.

I'm sad Alexa is leaving and wish her the very best wherever she goes.

If only Alexa had a coach that knows how to utilize her skills and put her in a situation that will benefit the team.

We Shall Find Out Soon Enough - I'm anxious to see what school Alexa ends up at because I for one will be following her team. I liked Alexa the first time I saw her play in the ESPN H.S. skills challenge. Her game reminded me that of Kelly Jolly. So I am disappointed that it has not gone well for Alexa or my beloved Lady Vols.

It is clear as day that CHW is the reason why. Now Alexa is transferring because Holly shattered her dreams of being a Lady Volunteer.

In My Opinion

i think Alexa has made a good decision for herself. She can be a difference maker at the mid-major level. She wants to play and that probably wasn't going to happen next season in Knoxville. MTSU, UTC, UT Martin are all schools where she could excel. I wish her nothing but happiness and success. I know this was a hard decision for her, especially cause she loved her school so much. Good luck, Alexa <3

SandyO - I am a fan of her game! That smile, her hustle plays, those 3pt shots of hers!!

I'm going to miss her as a Lady Vol. Now I'm just anxious in seeing where she ends up. I hope it's a contender and she gets to play big time minutes.

Thanks Alexa for choosing Tennessee if only for 3 seasons!

It is not clear to the fan base. I will agree that it is a desired outcome of the Holly Haters who post here. I thank Alexa for the time she spent here and the sacrifices she made for the team and I wish her well whatever her future holds.

Very lazy response. Since Alexa said lack of playing time isn't her reason for leaving, what is the reason in your mind?

"Very lazy response" - whatever - KMA.

It is one she does not wish to discuss...and if you knew anything about her and the type of person she is, you would respect that.

It is too easy for Holly Haters to make a situation all about Holly. Alexa made a decision and I respect that. I don't have to know why she decided to transfer and I am certainly not entitled to know. People just need to accept Alexa's decision for what it is rather than twisting it to fit their agenda.

Exactly. So disrespectful to Alexa, which
infuriates me. She is the epitome of class...just precious. I'm so sad she left, but I respect her decision, whatever the reason. I'll ALWAYS be an Alexa Middleton fan!!!

she was still in HS for the first 2 years and some of last year. She would try to drive the ball and would get it put up in the second row. Saw her many times try to take a fast break by herself against the numbers. Once she tried a 1 on 3 with the same results as most of her other drives.

She was also clearly a spot up shooter, but LOVED to take a dribble and shoot it. One of the last games she played she did this and must have missed it 2 feet to the right from the top of the key.

In short, she was not the player that she thought she was and did not play to her strengths. Holly either didn't get this or could not change her. She did, for the most part, start playing within her abilities the second half of the season.

Rumor I heard was she looking to go to Louisville which I can't understand at all. When I first heard she was leaving, I thought MTSU.

Louisville!

Moore now Johnson now leaving. Maybe if half of the team leaves. Then she might get to play?

They lost a guard also who is transferring to Georgetown, but they are still loaded at the guard spot,

I'm not a Holly fan, but I don't see how anyone can be dogging Holly for transfers -- especially one that is not a key player -- and Middleton is NOT a key player for us, so we can stop this fairy tale that she somehow is.

Other teams are getting bitten hard by the transfer bug by not only multiple transfers but transfers of key players. Holly, for all her weaknesses, seems to be far from "running players off".

Ur correct! ppl are giving her too much attention as if she's a key player. Look at other star players who left their program, they're still standing and move on. Let's move on and stop Holly blame..

I see no way Louisville would be interested. She needs to transfer somewhere that she won't have to play against more athletic guards. She would do fine in a situation where everyone isn't bigger and faster than she is.

I said Holly has never had a transfer (which a poster reminded me of Tucker) ... Now Alexa. But man... Louisville lost 3 in the same year... Baylor lost what 3 or 4? And duke had multiple playes leave... However, Duke and Baylor each had a player leave due to medical issues but still dang!

Holly had done a great job holding these players together, atleast vols have not had an important or group players leave the program since she took over.

Dont bash me for asking. But is there any chatter of locker room chemistry with Middleton and another player? I for one have always been hard on Middleton because i thought she dribbled to dang much. She always tried to play like a speedier more athletic player than she is. But she always seemed to give her all for the Lady Vols. Something must be going on that we as fans will never know. Next year has the potential to be a special year. Why jump ship now?

Playing time playing time she knows it would have been hard to beat cooper Westbrook and Hayes meme is athletic and can play defense and if she works more on her shot then she would be good

I would say you might be on to something here. Regardless she was a player that gave her all for Tennessee good luck to her and wherever she plays that last season.
