Where were you? - September 11, 2001

I’m sure some of the 9/11 victims had unseemly criminal charges against them. Imagine someone saying we mourn them too much and it means we hate law & order and love crime

There is no “official story” but there are facts that tell the story of 9/11 and the thousands of interviews of the people who were part of it who literally had part of the wing of the plane jammed into their office door in the tower or were holding meetings during the first plane hitting. The second plane was on live tv. Of course no one was filming the Pentagon, it’s private and not a super awesome tourist destination but there are security camera still shots that show the plane hitting, video from the scene with the plane engines on the grass in front of the Pentagon and interviews from employees who witnessed the plane striking the building. The planes knocked the fireproofing foam off of the steel outside supports in the towers at the impact zones and cut the exit stairway above the impact zones. The fire burned hot enough to weaken the steel supports which caused the building to buckle under the weight at the impact zone due to loss of its steel supports on the outer columns. It collapsed like it did because we don’t live in a cartoon world where planes leave plane shaped holes in buildings and buildings don’t fall over like a tree being chopped down. I guess the thousands of survivors at the Twin Towers and Pentagon are also part of this grand conspiracy. I teach 9/11 and have heard every idiotic theory known to mankind but they are teenagers
You teach 9/11?

I didn’t see your explanation for WTC 7. How do you explain the free fall collapse of this building?

This thread has a few posts complaining about divisiveness and then blaming the left for all of it. I could also say that if you don’t want division, don’t boo peaceful protestors or suggest that those killed by police had it coming because “they were criminals”, don’t call Islam an inferior religion and don’t yell at people for speaking Spanish, etc.

Lost in all of the “we were united” back-patting is also the ridiculous amount of racism and xenophobia that Muslim Americans faced after this. A lot of these proud Americans were “united” AGAINST them
- People can boo who they want too
- criminals who are killed while committing violent crimes caused their own situations
- Mohammed was a child rapist pedophile slaver and murderer. Historical fact
- no one on this board is yelling at people for speaking Spanish. I’m fluent in Spanish myself

quit trying to pick anecdotes and straw men to justify your worldview

Lol at “straw men” when you missed the point by a mile. Did I say people couldn’t boo, or did I say that “creating division” isn’t exclusive to the left?

You got pretty personally defensive about this, but plenty of Republicans have yelled at people for speaking Spanish, whipped out a “go back to your country” or done a million other “divisive” things

You buy that?

They don’t address the near free fall speed that WTC 7 collapsed and would require all the columns to fail simultaneously.

It appears to me NIST first concluded the cause of the collapse (fires) and then made the study back up this conclusion.

People like you are going to "buy" anything that refutes your stupid ass conspiracy theory.

It’s an insignificant secondary building damaged by the collapse of the two main towers. Unless you think secret government demolition experts infiltrated the building in the cover of darkness, ripped off the Sheetrock, trim, etc. then wired it with demolition explosives and put it back together without anyone noticing or leaking information 20 years later? Which one is more plausible?

I can take a 02/acetylene torch from my shop, attach a rosebud tip and apply heat to steel, after some time and with heat applied, the steel will glow orange and at that point, I can twist it and reshape the material.

Imagine with heat applied to a steel structure, a fire that has materials to continue feeding it and allowing it grow and continuously burn for 7 hours straight. Steel that is structural support for a building begins to heat up, allowing it's composition to break down and weaken. Anything that is weight supporting will fail and create a domino effect.

Yes and plenty of libs are burning down portions of cities all across the country, harassing elderly people out eating dinner, surrounding people and trying to intimidate them into raising the black power fist, dragging people from their vehicles, assaulting 7 year olds because of a red hat. And sure, look at the nfl. Drew brees says he doesn’t agree with kneeling and multiple nfl players instantly condemned him. Desean Jackson attempts to quote Hitler and posts anti Jew garbage and crickets from the same players. Why is that?

Seems like you’re agreeing with me that both parties are to blame. I guess you did say “yes” before the ensuing whataboutism

I clearly said people on both sides are guilty. Didn't single out the left. I did single out the Denver Broncos in this case because I saw that as a particularly egregious example, but by no means am I suggesting it is all one side's fault.

I am right leaning in my political views, and I have no problem saying that. I'm not dumb enough or blindly loyal enough, though, to not see the problems that persist within the Republican party.

Agreed, I noticed the “on both sides” as well. That part of my response was probably better directed at some other posts in this thread more so than yours. Apologies

No worries. I think even though you lean left and I lean right, we probably agree on several things.

What you’re describing would’ve resulted in the building leaning to one side and most likely not falling.

There’s an enormous difference between the deformation of steel and the simultaneous catastrophic failure of all building columns resulting in a free fall collapse inside its own footprint.

Did you know that WTC 7 is the first steel structure to collapse solely due to fire?

Go to the :17 second mark of the video. The climate control units on the roof collapse first. Followed by additional items in a domino effect, moving left to right. To me, that indicates structural failure of the roof and structural failure of the core due to extreme heat applied to the materials and weight overload.

That is complete nonsense that has been refuted by engineers repeatedly like Popular Mechanics and MIT. The collapse of the Twin Towers is precisely at the impact zones or are you suggesting that the fake pilots hit the Towers at precisely the same point the building was wired to detonate? The buildings operated 24/7 and would have required significant closure to wire it to detonate and demolition. When they set charges to demolish a relatively small structure as compared to the Twin Towers requires significant prep work. They don’t just tape explosives to the side of the wall, walk out, and push a large cartoonish red button. The prep work required to demolish several dozen floors of a 1700’ building would take several days if not weeks. Maybe you believe these dastardly individuals snuck them in over time disguised as a fake sandwich or coffee mug? Was Clinton involved in this ill conceived conspiracy to blow up the Twin Towers? Bush was only in office about a year and a half. Were the FBI/CIA agents tracking Osama bin Laden and the other members of Al Qeada a smokescreen? Were the families who were impacted by the loss of life in the buildings and on the planes part of the conspiracy? The sheer numbers of people it would require to pull off an idiotic conspiracy like this would be in the tens of thousands. It’s human nature to be skeptical. It’s why people can’t accept the fact that Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated JFK and Area 51 is housing UFO’s. The truth is less exciting

Thread has helped me with a sense of perspective about our dysFUNctional forum.

Several posters are much younger than me. Youth doesn't invalidate your feelings. It does mean less life experience from which to form those feelings.

You’re talking only about WTC 1 and 2.

I’m talking about WTC 7.

It appears all of your questions are based on your assumption that I’m a “crazy conspiracy theorist”.

They weren’t cell phones. They were airfones. You should probably look these things up before continuing with the b.s. conspiracy theories. Stop watching loose change.
No, only a few were airphone calls. There are multiple accounts of cellphone calls. Even the woman that was speaking to Todd Beamer and prayed the Lord's prayer with him acknowledged that other passengers were made aware of the WTC attacks by other passengers cellphones.

Cellphone usage on the planes and 3 buildings falling completely within their footprints in a manner such as a controlled demolition is a lot to buy. But I admit, I did buy it for about 10 years...
