Which Dooley recruit do you think has made an impact on Jones' team so far?

Some of Dooleys recruits wre pretty good: Malik Jackson, De Anthony Arnett, Curt Maggitt, Tiny, A.J. Johnson, Lane, Bray , Neal, Da Rick, Hunter, Rivera, Fulton, James, Stone, Sapp, Palardy, PIG, McCullers & Patterson.

All of the other recruits either never made it to campus, never played or left the program.

Weren't Bray, Rogers, Fulton, James, Stone, and Palardy all EE's remaining from the Kiffin experiment?

Especially Patterson. Certainly other than Peyton who is in the class/planet of his own, CP is the most amazing/memorable UT player I have seen in my 30 years of following UT football. I'm still amazed Dooley was able to convince Patterson to come after that horrible loss to UK. CDD was on such hot seat after that game it was a stretch to see him pulling anyone of that caliber.

Hinshaw is the guy to thank there

We have ur POV where u contribute some of it to Kiffin not Dooley (though some of those listed werent going to come under Kiffin) and the POV that another poster has that says CBJ had to recruit the likes of Sutton or he would have left??

Or ultimately give posi-credit surrounding UT the last fews to everyone but Dooley, and ALL the nega-credit to him??

Just wondering what the official determination on this topic should be...

All things equal, any recruit worth his salt is choosing UT over Cincy.

But if CBJ was that much better coach/recruiter then Dooley (if that was obvious) things should not have been viewed as equal by recruits. But that was not what we saw in recruiting battle, or head to head matchup between the two. The first time we can truly say there is evidence that CBJ may turn out better than Dooley is after he pulled in this last amazing class. Because his record and coaching during his first year at UT was not better than Dooley either.

What about both their records prior to UT? CBJ is head and shoulders better than Dooley in that regard and given time I believe he will prove it here as well.

Time will tell. I don't assign too much weight to anything that happened when Butch was at Cincy (that whole conference is a joke). I do think CBJ will end up doing better than Dooley because of this recruiting class and momentum that comes with it. It's absolutely loaded with studs and hopefully they will step up and contribute quickly (starting this year would be nice so he can keep the recruiting momentum going). The question mark in my mind are still the assistants - are our OC and DC truly the caliber of coaches in terms of X's and O's to be successful in the SEC? That is the most important question that needs to be answered this year. Last year they did a poor job, but let's give them a pass for that because they recruited so well - let's see what happens going forward when they have their own recruits.

So following this "logic" Butch had nothing to do with this last class, right? Jancek and Bajakian get all the credit?

Who needs "logic" when we got you. And before you start spouting about how I'm following you...I was here first. :eek:k:

Did I respond to your posts (dumb as they may have been)? Of course not - but you could not resist to have a chat with me again, could you? :)

I know you could not resist - as soon as I saw you on this thread I knew you will soon respond to one of my posts. This is why I keep telling you that you should befriend me and Oskie - that way you are guaranteed to receive all the Dooley charm that's left on this board.

And the dance goes on. :dance2:...how come when I respond to you it's because I'm "obsessed" and when you return fire it's serving some higher purpose?

I'll probably send you a request because I don't really think you're insane....Oskie on the other hand....

Its my personal policy on forums - don't ever reply first to people who are likely only looking for a fight.
However when someone keeps throwing punches you have to be ready to :gun: :bash: :machgun:

Simmer ur Dooley love TG. Cause the fan card police r out in force in this thread. People r idiots.

Btw - u get me my friend. Ha!! U r arguing the pt I was trying to make. But sorry u r know an idiot to all the smart ones on here.

I was going to put in my first response something about the difference between Cincy and UT, but decided not too. But I knew that would be the argument people would come up with. At the time Peterman was being recruited Cincy and Jones were a way safer bet. So I agree with u...if Dooley was such an incompetent recruiting jacka** like so many on here say he is I don't see how the UT "Traditions" beats out Cincy's stability at that time.

Oskie, good to see you alive and kicking. Don't worry about idiots - they are asking to be exposed so sprinkling some facts into these kinds of threads at least helps that a little bit. Can't change the world but at least can do something to move the needle in the positive direction, right? :)

And just how many of you were worried that Dooley would be leaving to take over at GA after his first year?

Yeah, just forget comparing Butch's first 6 years as a HC to Dooley's, why would that matter. Ok, you're certainly entitled to the opinion that Dooley is/was a better college head coach and recruiter. I obviously dont share that opinion.

You are pretty slow or brand new on the board? Because it's a pretty well known fact around here that Oskie and I both spend a good bit of our time correcting various lies/misinformation people keep putting up about Dooley.
