Which Freshman QB is better?

I have to respectfully disagree with many on this board...

After watching senior highlight film of both Dobbs and Ferguson; I 100% have faith that Dobbs gives us the best chance to win.

He shows good pocket presence, has solid arm strength and can RUN. He makes good decisions with the ball and gives any team he's on a better chance to win.

Riley is a tremendous athlete and shows great potential as well, but in the first few mintues of his film I witnessed him haphazardly sling the ball in the air multiple times. This works in High school against inferior talent and coaching, but not here. I question his decision making.

Proof is in the pudding:

I agree. What sold me on Dobbs, too, is his awareness in the pocket... sensing where the pressure is coming from and the ability to make a quick decision to either step up or to the side and deliver the ball (accurately) or to slip out and make BIG PLAYS as a runner.

Plus, he's very intelligent...so, like Butch, "he gets it." :)

Ferguson I think will eventually be the best of the two but IDK that either are ready to start their first game in the Swamp.

Under normal circumstances, I would agree with that, but this staff doesn't really have any other good options. Neither Worley or Peterman have taken that decision out of the coaching staff's hands. None of our QB's have played in that kind environment in a competent fashion.

If CBJ decides to go with a freshman QB which one do you think it will be? Who do you think is better and gives us the best chance to beat Florida?
I'd settle for a good high school qb and rb if next game is a repeat of last week's play. I won't called it performance, that's a little different.

I saw the exact same thing... There are multiple times he makes 2-3+ defenders miss with pure athleticism and insticnts, then steps up and accurately hits his target.

Thats exactly what we need when the pocket collapses like it will multiple times on Saturday. Plus, he can keep the zone read and gash a Defense for 20 yards while drinking his morning coffee!! :zeitung_lesen:

This will actually end up helping the o-line get into "beast mode".

This is a senior class of good, above average linemen.
They will rally behind the freshman QB, who ever that maybe.
The running backs will have their backs. The WR will step it up as well.

Look for this team to grow a little more come Saturday in the swamp.
Who knows, a new "swamp rat" may emerge!

GO BIG ORANGE!!!

I've been waiting on our swamp rat for a long time...

I'll start a riot in Chicago if one of our Freshman QB's gets the W! Hell... I'll start a riot of anyone can get us the W!
