Before y'all get upset, please read this entire post.

There are plenty of VFLs who have currently chosen the Denver Broncos as their favorite NFL team. The sole reason for this is that Peyton is a Bronco. I myself fall into this group of Broncos/Manning fans. Growing up in East Tennessee, the NFL took a far back seat to the SEC. There really wasn't a "home team" when it came to pro football. Therefore, it seems a lot of East Tennesseeans follow former Vols more than they follow NFL teams.

With this in mind, my question is: which NFL teams do y'all reckon these particular fans will throw their allegiance behind when Peyton retires?

Will they remain Broncos fans? Will they move on to the Chiefs, because of Eric Berry? What do you think?

If you are one of the aforementioned fans, which team/s will you likely support once Peyton hangs it up?

It would have been easier to become a Titans fan for me if they had been an expansion team and started from scratch.

Since they are likely fans of the "Yankees" & "Lakers", they will start to support the NFL that is winning at the moment.

What if the Steelers drafted Dobbs? Just going by your earlier post...

I am a Steelers fan and have been on since 1979.

I even supported them when Kordell Stewart was the q.b. When Bubby Brister was the q.b. When Mark Malone was the q.b.
When Tommy Maddox was the q.b.

I don't see how people change teams along the way.

tennessee titans

I don't see the Titans getting alot more fans than they already have.

They are not really dedicated to winning. As long as they go 8 - 8 for the season, the management seems to be content.

To them it is about their profit margin and not the winning record. If they were 3 - 13 for the season and had record ticket sales and record memoribilia sales, then they would be happy as can be.

To root for them is to set yourself up for disappointment.

If they ever got serious about winning, then they may be able to do well. They are not in a very strong division. It isn't a super weak conference but it isn't really strong either. So, with a little dedication, they can own the division.

The four NFL teams with the most VFLs on their rosters are:
Oakland - 4
Denver - 3
Kansas City - 3
New Orleans - 3

The AFC West is stacked with Vols. I'm a huge Eric Berry fan, but it just seems wrong to jump from being a Broncos fan to a fan of either the Chiefs or Raiders.

In an attempt to finally choose an NFL team to support for the long haul (after Peyton retires), I would like to know which teams have historically been the most Vol friendly. Also, which teams may have front offices with VFLs in top positions. I'd like to find a team that, for lack of a better word, "likes" to draft Vols. That way I can be fairly confident that my favorite NFL team will likely have at least one Vol on the roster at any given time.

Teams that I will NOT be considering:
Any of the AFC East teams
Cincinnati
San Diego
Any of the NFC East teams
Chicago
Detroit
Minnesota
Tampa Bay

Also, as I mentioned earlier, I don't like the idea of jumping from Denver to a division rival. So, Kansas City and Oakland are on the fence for me.

This leaves the following teams:
Denver, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Green Bay, Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans, Arizona, St. Louis, San Francisco, and Seattle.

I became a Colts fan when Manning was drafted. Still am to this day, but I (2nd) root for Manning in Denver. I'll always be a Colts fan because It became more about the team and organization for me...Manning just intro'd me to it. I assume most Manning followers will reside with the Titans or their closest local team untill the next great Vol QB goes Pro
