Which USC players can we get?

I truly believe it would have only been a matter of time before we would have gotten ourselves in some sort of trouble like this. I'm so thankful Kiffin is gone, and even though Carroll and staff gave the USC fans some good years, I bet they are second guessing themselves right about now

This will be very tough for them to come back from quickly. No bowl games and a loss of 20+ scholly's is BADDDD. All that CA talent will start heading to your conference Rivals, Cal and UCLA. Oregon is already legit. Now you throw in the Longhorns and the Sooners a competition? I sure wouldn't want the job of rebuilding the program.

And these college coaches are gonna beat it recruits heads that Orgeron was the recruiting coordinator that landed Reggie Bush and Kiffin was on the staff too. They were a part of this scandal. That will do major damage considering most people are already very wary of them anyways.

This will set them back 5-10 years imo. This happened to them at exactly the wrong time.

Im glad to see it happen. They deserve everything they get.

we would have to be careful in how we "went after" another team's players....Mustain needs to leave USC before we can really do anything.

Not true, it's going to be a free for all. This is from the Trojan board, who got it from Rivals:

Quote:
After the Committee on Academic Approval approves schools, USC SRs and JRs will be able to be recruited by other programs.
Quote:
Lane Kiffin and USC will get notified which schools recruit their players.

I just don't see how this can be true. Just because a player has the OPTION to transfer without having to sit out a year doesn't mean that each player becomes free-game again... If they want to open up their recruitment, they have to make the first step. Until then, they are still a part of the USC football team, making it illegal for other schools to contact them... This is just basic stuff that I know, but I find it very unlikely that this instance would warrant anything different.

Good point. Hopefully a few of the upperclassmen want to transfer. Mustain and a lineman or two could be the difference in making it to a bowl this year.

Ok, question to the board. What players do you WANT from USC? I say Kalil, Martin Coleman, Broderick Green

I somehow see Kiffin encouraging any players determined to leave in heading to places not named Tennessee.

I'm sure many of the upperclassmen are tossing around the idea, especially those that may not see meaningful minutes.... and on a side note, just because ncaa rules prohibit schools from recruiting another school's players it pretty much goes without saying that in an instance like this, schools make sure that their interest is known by the player

Also, if you are transferring and have your option to go anywhere, are you going to come to a rebuilding project in TN or go to a team that may be 1-2 pieces away from being a contender.

Seriously, I think that is a fair question to ask. Not all of them will necessarily have that option, but if they are good enough, then they will.

if he was smart he would encourage them to come here... much more likely that they will go to another pac-10 team. At least here he won't have to play them.

Unfortunately, you are right. There are other schools that are probably a better fit for just about everyone on that roster than UT....If you are Mustain, why come be QB at a school that has no experienced OL?

Seeing that most starters arent going to leave I want

Martin Coleman OL
Butch Lewis OL
Zack Herberer OL
Michael Reardon OL
Shane Horton LB
Jordan Campbell LB
Ross Cumming LB
DaJohn Harris DT
Derek Simmons DT
Mich Mustain QB

But that most likely won happen

It would not surprise me if most of the Seniors stay. If they are happy at USC, and can get over not playing in a bowl game, then I could understand staying. Afterall, they will still get to play next season and it will not hinder their chances for the NFL if they are good enough.

I would like to get any player from USC and when he announces he is leaving say he would only leave for Tennessee because it was his dream school, and then have him admit that his middle name never was Troy...

I think it is fair to say though that every single junior and senior on that squard, including ronald johnson, is at least weighing out their options and considering it....Which, for the mere headache and stress that it is no doubt causing Kiffin, I am ecstatic about.
