White Pride; Negative Connotation

Hi all. I have a question I wanted to pose to you the loyal forum folks.

As a Black American, I take a great sense of pride in who I am and my race. I am proud of what my people have accomplished in a relatively short amount of time. Admitting this would not bat an eye from most people. In fact we track and chart the achievements of minorities in all fields of human accomplishment.

I ask you all why is it different for White Americans? Why does the term "White Pride" have such a negative connotation? Is it deserved? Does it bother you as a White American?

This is me being honestly curious, because I find it weird how when someone says "White Pride," images of cross burnings and swastikas come to mind.

Because we white folks (white men mainly) aren't allowed to be proud of what we have been able to do throughout history as we are evil, horrible creatures, bred by Satan himself, and thrown upon the world to cast a shadow of torment, cruelty, and control all over minorities. We suck and need to be ashamed, A-SHAMED, of ourselves.

i always thought it was cockinasians until someone told me different and I realized I was wrong.

alas, it was too late though and the marriage was legal.

Sarcastic answers aren't very helpful to the discussion. I think if you want to crack jokes and what not you should consider posting in the Endzone and the Pub forums. Humor and general silliness are much more useful there than in the politics forum.


Please try to be a more constructive poster instead of a destructive poster!

Don't you lecture me.

I've slept 50 yards from enemy lines (poor people) and have seen things (obama winning) you can't even imagine.

This response was not directed at me but I am curious as to what your thoughts are of my original response to your thread. I was not joking.

Does the phrase "white pride" get construed to mean "white power"?

We do not have a culture. we take cultures and kinda mold them to our own. their is no white people food. we take italian pizza and kinda change it. we take spaghetti. we take asian food. we pretty much just take cultures, tweak them a little, and move forward.

the only thing our culture had, until lately, was the urge for conquest and control.

It really seems to. It was interesting, I ran a quick google search for the term "White Pride," and all the results were from white supremacy groups. It almost seems as they have taken the term and even idea of "White Pride," and perverted it for their own controversial agendas.

I do note when white folks do want to take pride in something they do it based more on nationality which is great!

I suppose it may be different for black Americans because it seems a bit more difficult to track family and national ties over the years. So much so that it is easier to track my Scottish roots from my ancestors owners than any particular African nation.

but the point is white pride is not allowed in this country because the liberals have made everyone think you should feel dirty for being white.

I think tre is hinting at it, Nerd. I perceive that folks would jump to a white power image when faced with the term white pride. KKK and Nazi visions for white supremacy. Therefore, white people shy away from "racial" pride.

Nerd I have often wondered the same thing. Part of it, I think, is hypersensitivity on the part of a lot of minorities. Plus in this PC culture we live in racism is in every action.
