Butch Davis is going to Arky? You've got to be kidding me...

Wonderful... We'll have Spurrier, Meyer, and Davis pumping up the scrub teams and making this conference even MORE difficult than it already is.

You guys must think further out of the box. None of the same old names. Go to the NFL and get on the USC model for success!

what do you guys say about butch davis he is avalible.  or maybe teleford from CAL or UCLA's head coach.  i would like richt or tubberville,  but neither of them are realistic.  Davis on the other hand is sitting at home taking a year off.  i think he's better than what we have.

As good as he is with offenses, Tedford is probably at Cal to stay.

Mike Price. Don't laugh! This guy can coach, just don't let him hit town with one dollar bills. LOL

Seriously, the only game he did coach at Bama was our spring game and he was lighting it up on Offense. Now, of course, I really hope he stay's out of the SEC. He hates BAMA and would like nothing better than to whip us at UT!

Really, Fulmer is not going anywhere. Who is gonna run him out? Nobody! I agree you guys have loads of talent, and sometimes that can be a double edged sword. Changing your HC is the worst thing you can do. Trust me...

Why would we ever trust a bammer??? :biggrin2:

:clapping: "ALABAMA"

Was referring to BAMA fan's dealing with HC changes. Temporary solution for a long term problem! Just glad it's not BAMA!!!

All this talk and there hasn't even been the slightest thing said to give anyone any reason to believe that CPF is at any risk to lose his job. I support CPF 110%. If it ever happens that he leaves or is forced to leave then we should be discussing who should replace him, but not now.

Thats just what it is , just thinking out loud. I support Phil but lets face it. If things don't get better soon, then this is something that will be talked about at a higher leverl. At the moment with the same number of games over the last 45 for Phil and his SEC record is not as good as J. Majors over his last 45, and we see what happened there. So for now who could do a better job thats all we are saying.

Majors went 34-9-2 in his last 3 1/2 season at Tennessee (45 games). 1989-1992

Fulmer is 31-14 in his last 3+ years (45 games). 2002-2005

If Fulmer does not replace Randy Sanders and our performance/record is about the same next year as this year then Fulmer is out. CPF keeps saying that the "system works" and "they have won alot of games." CPF is not going to change. Unless next year we have some players step up bigtime I think we really will be looking for a new head coach in 2007.

i'm just throwing names out there i personally would love to see butch davis in orange, but i think fulmer is going nowhere as long as hamilton is the AD. no matter how bad his record is.

Broyles is fed up with him flirting with every high profile job that comes along!  (LSU-NEB)  IMO he screwed up not taking NEB money!

Yeah I agree.

He should have left on his own when he could have and got a pay raise to boot.

I wonder if Sanders & Co. are watching........

I think Don is on to something. Here's someone I think will make a great coach for someone, don't laugh....Norm Chow.

Seriously, this guy knows the way, he has been a primary cog in what has become a stunning dynasty at USC. Nobody will look at him for various reasons, so he went to the Titans. Age aside, I think he was a better choice than Ed Origami at Ole Miss.

I'm going out on a short limb here and say he's eventually going to get a shot somewhere, and probably do pretty well.

In no particular order:

Chucky
Jeff Fisher
Ditka
Chavis
Alternate Universe Dave Wannstedt Who Can Actually Coach
Steve Mariucci
John L. Smith -- good offense @ Michigan St. (but keep Chief as DC)
Mike Martz (let's face it...he's history @ St. Louis)
Mini-Ditka
Paul Johnson (HC @ Navy....I like him because if he has 4th & 4 at the 50, he's going for it!!!)
John Fox (Carolina Panthers)
Sandy Randers
Herman Edwards (NY Jets)

Actually, let's give Phil a few seasons to clean-house of these vermin he has coaching his offense (TT notwithstanding).

What about Cutcliff? He has ties with UT and I think he did a pretty good job with Ole Piss considering their wasn't much talent. Given the opportunities to recruit in Knoxville I'm sure he would be a good fit.

The best possibility to replace phil is to find a good NFL coach on a bad team who is going to get canned. Same thing southern cal and south carolina did. Thats how you pick up a good coach who is a known commodity, almost no risk.

List of actual-factual, have-a-shot at getting replacements who would be quality gets. People I would interview if I was AD Mike (in order)...

Tier 1
Norm Chow
John Chavis
Jon Gruden
Jeff Fisher (if let go from Titans)
Mike Leach
Brian Billick (in trouble with Ravens)
Karl Dorrell

Tier 2
Steve Mariucci
Herm Edwards
Al Borges
Al Saunders
Art Shell
Pat Hill
Jeff Bower
Mike Martz (if his health improves)
Mike Ditka (if he even wants to coach again)
