Who do Titans go after in the draft??

if you watch the titans closely you know how much potential stephen tulloch has at MLB. he will be there full time next year.

If Sirmon is gone, then they need someone else to fill in. Bulluck, Tulloch, and Thornton could/should be the starters. Maybe sign a guy with experience to be the backup OLB.

I think I saw him on special teams. They did draft a couple LBs last year so maybe they will step up.
He started 2 games while Sirmon and Thornton were out. He averaged 7.5 tackles, had an INT, a sack, and 3 TFL's. He was all over the field, in the backfield, his name was being called on every play basically. I think he could be the MLB version of Bulluck and the coaches are really high on him and his work ethic.

I'm seeing Dwayne Jarrett, Robert Meachem, or Sidney Rice as the Titans' first round pick.

However, with the wretched defense, I could see a DT from an incredibly strong DT class or a stud S.

They been needing a playmaker at wr ever since mason left, but I think they will try to upgrade the defense early in the draft best available de,s,dt, and maybe cb.

I really don't see how they don't go after a playmaking WR. They have Givens, Wade, the OU kid, and the UAB kid back next year. Bennett is gone IMO. Most of those are possession WRs. We need someone to go deep.

I'd love for'em to get a big DT or a freakish DE... I'm just a defensive guy.

They need help in so many areas though that they couldn't really go wrong.

they need a DE, CB, FS, WR, DT (for depth) in that order and maybe a tight end because Kinney wont ever play football again most likely and Troupe has been a big disappointment.

Troupe was injured much of the year but before that he was starting to be a playmaker. We can always sign a wondering FA. Jeremy Stephens from Seattle is supposed to be a FA this year. Who all do we have at DE? Vanden Bosch is the only one I can think of. I know we took like 4 in the past few years. CB is really young. We have like 3 or 4 that are in their first 3 years. FS is a need, but is Lowry a FS or SS? WR is a huge need. DT we have Haynesworth, Long(was injured), Starks, Mahelona, and the guy we picked up this year(forget his name).

DE is nowhere near the Titans' top priority. It's definitely a place they could upgrade, though.

I saw Troupe have less catches this year and more drops even before he got hurt. I for one don't want Stephens on this team. We are just coming along and dont need another TO/Pacman personality. Lowry is a FS, and he will be our starter there next year if we dont pick one up, and Finnegan will start at CB if we dont get a pickup there. They would both do well I think, but I think it would also be safer to go after an already proven experienced player in those important positions. Especially after we saw how much they hurt us this year.

So that's why everytime the Titans come up on the radio here, they talk about drafting a DE right? Everytime they had Floyd on before he got fired it was DE, DE, DE. The GM changed, but the need doesnt. We have KVB, then no one else worth mentioning.

And at DT, you have Haynesworth and nothing else.

KVB @ DE > Haynesworth @ DT

Robaire Smith isn't very good, but Travis LaBoy showed promise at DE.

I said the Titans will need to grab a DE, but I don't think the kind of DE will be available at their pick. They could reach, of course, but the heavy DT and WR class could net them incredible value.

they could also trade up. Travis LaBoy isnt a full time DE. He is good for a play or two every couple series. He is strictly a situational player for pass rushing.

Good point. See, this is good discussion.

If they trade up, do you think they'd try to grab Gaines Adams or Lamarr Woodley? I still think the Titans would behoove themselves to look at WR, S, or DT with that first pick.

What do you see wrong with our OL? I like our OL and DL. Our DL got absolutely slammed with injuries this year, really early on and even moreso when Albert got his suspension.

I don't think the Titans should address the OL in the first 2 rounds, but that being said, I don't think highly of Bell or Stewart. Sure, Piller didn't play all season, and Olsen is good at G, but those two guys aren't dominating and are getting a long in the tooth. Roos is good, and Mawae is awesome.

However, a stud project wouldn't be bad in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

I'd take a safety. It seems like Thompson is out of place a lot on crucial downs. If you get another good player back there with Chris Hope, the Titans will give up a lot fewer third down conversions.

I'd rather us not have to draft a DB. There will be times next year if we do where there will be rookie coverage mistakes and someone will get a huge play at a crucial time. I'd rather have the experience to decrease that chance.
