Who Has Their Carry A Concealed Weapon Permit?

Would like to shoot one. However, I saw on The Man Show that despite being smaller, a .44 Magnum has more 'kick'. The venting on the 500 muffled the recoil. The Man Show's test? They zeroed in on some busty women's breastezes while they shot both guns. Shure enough the .44 produced more jiggle. More bang for the buck so to speak.

I saw the episode and those guys are crazy or were shooting different loads. I've got a .44 Redhawk and even with maximum hadloads and 320gr bullets it's got nothing on the Big 5.

Technically my 500 (mind you we're only talking the S&W here, some other makes don't have the "vents" at all) doesn't have what's called a "brake" that actually lessens recoil. It DOES however have those vents on the top barrel right at the end which does keep the "muzzle flip" down. While it really does help that some in that regard it also means a good chunk of the recoil comes right back at you.

Gun weight is itself a huge factor. While I've not fired one yet I've handled a .44 S&W (scandium/titanium) 329PD. The damn thing only weighs 25.5oz. I can only assume that full-on magnum loads in that would be...attention getting.

Just for comparison here are my "standard" heavy reloads in each. (bullet wt in grains/muzzle velocity in feet per second/muzzle energy in foot pounds):

.44
320gr 1300fps 1201fp

.500
400gr 1550fps 2134fp

That .44 load is just about redlined for the cartridge. The book has .500 loads with 440gr bullets at over 1600fps and nearly 2700fp of energy. I have yet to go there.

Got mine but rarely carry it on my person. Mostly in my truck but will tote it if circumstances dictate. Colt Defender .45 cal. I have to admit, I think I like my .38 Detective Special better. Always been partial to revolvers. And Colts.
You still live in Senoia?

Yes I have a carry permit. I carry all the time, everytime.

H&K VP9SK or Ruger LCP .380 caliber

Editted due to fat fingers.

Yes. No. F*** off.

I have not.
It's pretty interesting. A "biophilic community", really upscale and has several little hamlets each with their own commercial centers. They do organic farming for the restaurants, lots of artsy and cultural stuff too. It's in Chattahoochee Hills just up the road from you.

Cool. I’ll have to check it out.
