On paper, Bielema looks like the home run hire in the SEC. But games are played on grass or artificial turf. So we'll see. As always, 2013 will be an interesting season in the SEC.

I don't have an overall opinion on the matter, but--Kentucky hit a home-run with Neal Brown. I respect him tremendously.

I'd probably have Malzahn tied with Jones instead of tied with Stoops, and Bielema shouldn't be so far ahead of everyone but this poll is about right.

ANYONE that believes Arky made a home run is nuts. Wisconsin,puke,puke! The guys a Joe Paterno clone. F*88 the Big10! Butch Jones is an energetic,charismatic,and aggressive coach. We made the HR! Just sit back and enjoy! Yall NegaVols will be on the old bandwagon soon enough. Go Vols!

Arkanslaaaw got a coach that plays an SEC style of football.....tough + defense + rushing.
He's from a nationally recognized team with a recent history of winning.
He's a well known name.
Is this really in question?
Doesnt mean he will win more games. It just means that if we were betting now, anyone with a brain would bet on Bielema.
Other than that I'd say TN got the best, naturally.

I would have Malzahn last on the list. Nothing impressive about him and Auburn is more impatient than we are. I think Arkansas pulled the shocker and should be declared the press conference champion.

Calm down hogboy, look at the poll. The "true fans" are picking UT in the poll but there are a lot of people that like the porker's hire.

in my 46 years as a vol fan and collage football fan I have seen a lot of these hires and all you can do is wait and see. Sometimes a coach that no one believes in does great and vice verse. I remember everyone thought Urban Myer was a stupid hire and then he showed them all. you just don't know.

The truth of the matter is our fans wanted a coach that would come and beat Saban and there isn't one available. Gruden wasn't the coach to do that like people think in fact he is more like Chizek a coach that won the big one once and failed badly after that.

Butch Jones may or may not succeed but of the coaches actually available to hire he was a solid choice.

I personally don't like Bielema as a hire because I think he was at Wisconsin long enough to show what his ceiling was and he hit it, went to 2 rose bowls and lost them both and this year backed into a Rose bowl/conference championship at 7/5 not real impressive to me.

CBJ on the other hand seems to continue to improve and hasnt hit his ceiling yet so I think its very possible that he will do very well here in the SEC.
