Who in the world is going to start?!?

Dont see the benefit of that in a rebuilding yr, but thats not my decision and trust this staff. Justin wasnt near as highly ranked as Peterman, Dobbs or Ferguson.

Worley = Gatoraide POY.

How was he not "near as hightly ranked"? Had a better offer list than the other 3 also.

Id look amazing too throwing the ball if I had cp catching it imo

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he only have CP for his Freshman and Sophmore years? Didn't his team win the state championship his senior year? Logic leads me to belive that CP had nothing to do with the 5,000 passing yards that year, the 64 touchdowns that year or the 5 touchdowns thrown in the 2010 state championship.

Unless CP just had an out of body experience that year and nobody noticed it.....

There is no subsitute for experience and if I remember correctly Worley is the only QB on the roster that has any college game time. JMO; Worley starts, not sure he willl end the year a starter.

Peterman or Dobbs by midseason at QB, Quinn TE, Lane RB, Croom, North, Pig, WR

Why does everyone think Dobbs is the next greatest at UT? By most reports Ferguson has looked better so far. Stronger arm and good leader. Is it just because Dobbs was "Butch's guy?"

Man, I wish VN forums had a way to separate the mudslinging and adolescent arguing that seems to engulf every interesting thread. Once that group goes off course it would be nice to hide it from the real discussion on the point.

The OP has a good point here. I expect JW to be the QB, Lane & Neal to share throughout (did you hear Tiny allude to a goal of 2x1,000 yd rushers in BHam?), Dallas(wr) & Howard (slot). I also see Croom making plays. Have you seen that guy? He looks like an NFL beast.

Riyahd Jones is on track to nab a cornerback slot.

I have a feeling this will happen too. He and Coleman out there will at least give us some athleticism and speed. Something unknown for the past couple of year.

Coleman should have enough experience to hold up. If Jones can play, then this will be huge. If he can't and Coleman has slacked in the off season, then get ready to hear the other band play a lot.

My Roster on NCAA 14, which i believe will be the roster on the field, based on nothing but my own guessing... lol

QB Peterman
RB Neal/ Hill
TE Downs/ Quinn
WR Bowles / North
WR Howard / Carter
WR Croom / Harris

OL is obvious

DL is obvious

LB Sapp
LB Johnson
LB Maggitt

CB Coleman/ Thomas
CB Riyahd Jones/ Toney
SS Randolph
FS Moore

The starting CBs worry me more than many positions bc I dont know what a lot of the guys on our list of DBs are capable of...

QBs and WRs are what everyone focuses on but we had the worst secondary I've ever seen at TN last year. That is a huge priority. It won't matter who our QB is, if he always gets the ball fighting a deficit.

I hate politics and they come into play all too often in sports. Don't know how this will play out at the QB spot. Ferguson is the best prospect IMO. Dobbs is obviously Butch's boy. This team has a chance to win some games this year so they should go with the best candidate to win now. Next year you break in a new line. If ut had experienced WRs I think Worley hands down. Buy he gives you virtually nothing with his legs.

People keep saying we have inexperienced WRs, but wasnt CP inexperienced? Wasn't JH inexperienced his Fr. year? Hell, wasn't Johnny Fn Football hungover and inexperienced last year?

Inexperience doesnt scare me. These boys have played football. And they are good at it if they are playing in the SEC, for one the greatest teams of all time.

Inexperience is something everybody has, it's how they deal with it and play through it that matters. If I were Butch, I would let all 4 QBs have a quarter in the AP game, and treat every down like it's a 2 min drill.

I know that's not nice to AP, but we need to get these boys out there and let them throw the rock around in front of 100,000 ppl. Then decide who the man is from there.

As I've posted before. Go back and check his high school stats and accolades. Last years vandy game had two interceptions that were completely on the receivers. If he were coming in this year with those high school stats y'all would be predicting ten wins. It's just the "new" has wore off so everybody's on to the next

We've always heard, the fans' favorite player is the backup QB

This. It amazes me how many people get the freshman savior syndrome. Worley could win 10 games this year and they'll be calling for whoever the incoming freshman QB may be to start in '14. Worley will be our starter, and I believe he will play well. The freshmen will have their time. Just not this year.

Careful. If I was the HS coach, I would throw at least 25 WR screens to CP every game. That would guarantee at least 5 TDs a game and some rediculous QB stats. :dance2:

Good point but he wasn't there his junior and senior season and JW put up some nasty stats his senior season but the defense. Having Coleman back will be huge. I honestly believe our defense will be really good, I don't believe we have a strong weakness anywhere on D. We gonna turn some heads this year. Book it!!!

Im an old man (well, late twenties) but seriously, i do value experience more than i once did. that being said, we havent seen anything from any of these guys at the sec level. im not going to go off any high school accolades. you have the spring to impress the coaching staff and the fall to prove yourself on the field. high school in south carolina is not the SEC. i wont be surprised if any of our qbs end up starting.

How do you not have Lane as number 2 back? He is probably 1st, but he is at least 2. Decided not to read the rest

Bc He's so inconsistent. You not reading the rest bc I decided not to pick Lane shows your ignorance, not mine.

I like Lane and would have preferred him be our #1 but he needs to quit acting like this is not the best opportunity of his life.

I mean, you are playing RB for the best college in the nation and you act like it doesnt matter if you follow the rules or be #1. I want to hear the coaches bragging about him every day after practice. But we don't hear that, so he's third on my depth chart.

I would just love to see either Dobbs or Peterman just take over the 1st spot!! love a young QB slinging the ball around and winning games!
