Who is resposible?

What is with the Ayn Rand love? Objectivism is as scary as communism to me.

I would say that the largest influence on my politics would be the conversations my friends and I have had since about sophomore year of high school through today. College certainly had a hand in my politics ... particularly learning about cognitive and spiritual growth models that could help me understand how I think/understand and how that plays into my initial reactions to issues...

If GW made the list, how can you avoid TJ?

Simple, no other founder would have given up what George Washington had before him.

TJ would have accepted the role of President for life like the rest of them.

Washington got it.......... that is why he is my#1 founder.

T. Rex was a great president.

He is my KISS president. Keep is simple stupid!

He saw the need for conservation our land and established my majority of our national park system.

He saw the need for a canal from Pacific to Atlantic and took the terrority we needed for it!

Keep it simple stupid!

T. Rex would have also seen the need to not be dependent on foreign oil. He'd have drilled in ANWR and off the coasts.

I think you don't know much about TJ.

And tell us to quit whining "you bunch of pansies!". That guy was great!

He was practical in every sense........

The greatest story to me about him is the game he would play with his children and often his cabinet members and diplomats where you would have to walk in a straight line and cross any and every obstacle in your way. This would include walls, trees, swimming pools..........

hordes of uninformed people have paid their $3 to take the tour of Monticello.

You are right, the books I have about him mean nothing.......

:eek:k:

I almost forgot, I will have to check but I believe the admission price is $8 for Adults.

I'm sure those books mean something, but you'll have to actually open them to figure out that he wouldn't have taken a permanent position.

I have no idea how you could have formed that opinion. He valued the position so little that he gave specific instruction for it not to be on his head stone. That's odd of a man who aspired to be the boss.

That is not the same as being in the postion of George Washington.

The roles reversed I believe Jefferson would have taken the position not of want but because he would have felt that is what something that he had to do for the good of the country.

Not entirely indifferent of Oliver Cromwell.

It would have been a matter of need more than any thing else.

I don't think he had the ego you're ascribing to him.

I have no idea what the Oliver Cromwell comment is trying to say.

Ego? The man was a novice farmer and book collector. In the situation given, if he were in Washington's place, he would only take the position of President for Life as a position of need to get the country rolling.

Lord Protector....... Cromwell didn't want the position, it was a position of need and he felt like it was something he had to do for the country.
