Who is the worst/most over rated football coach to win a national championship?

BCS era- Best to Worst
1. Nick Saban
2. Pete Carroll
3. Urban Meyer
4. Bob Stoops
5. Jim Tressell
6. Bobby Bowden
7. Mack Brown
8. Phillip Fulmer
9. Les Miles
10. Larry Coker
Mack Brown is no better than Fulmer. The dropoff after the first six is precipitous.

JaWuan James
Zach Fulton
Marques Pair
Chaz Green
JerQuari Schofield

Brandon Willis
Corey Miller
Jacques Smith
John Brown
Arthur Jeffery

Etc...

I was not talking about this year. I clearly said for the 2009 class. If he had gotten some decent big uglies, we wouldn't be looking at starting freshment this year.

I agree. I don't think Stoops and Tressell are better either. Sure they have more conference championships, but there success in winning BCSC is not good.

They get there though. There's a reason ten coaches have won the twelve championships since the BCS started.

I'm giving Brown the benefit of the doubt just because he hasn't wrecked the thing yet, even though I have full confidence in his ability to do so.

Do people not realize how poor of an argument it is to say "they have a bad winning percentage in national title games?"

I understand Brown is in the state of Texas, but the guy has never had less than nine wins at Texas in 10 years. That's impressive wherever you are.

This order seems to be a theme. I am surprised vol fans five Big Phil so little credit. Alabama was on Probation this year. Pete Carroll's Trojans had to vacate the only year they won. I mean does doing it the right way not mean anything to the fanbase? The 1998 team is still the last SEC school to go undefeated to win the BCS that's not on probation!

Plus Jim Tressell and Bobby Bowden did not have play a conference championship game to win the BCS, let a lone playing in a weaker conference.
