Who is worse? Juwan Howard or Penny Hardaway,

Typical Big 10 bullywho should be run out of the game like Woody Hayes at Ohio State and Bill Musselman at Minnesota, but Howard will keep his job on the double standard. Other non conference schools should refuse to schedule Michigan as a show of solidarity as to minimum expectations of a head coach when the team has been defeated. Penny's day is coming, Barnes won't bother to schedule that side show, doesn't have to, when talent realizes Penny can't coach, the balled up fists will go somewhere else.

Howard was acting like this in his NBA days. Always trying to provoke someone into an argument so this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

He won’t get fired but obviously he can’t handle this type of job.
I'm not so sure. I'm uncertain a D1 head coach has thrown hands and not been fired. It's uncommon for any coach to be the aggressor in a fight, much less a head coach, and it's a lousy look for Michigan and the B1G if he's not dealt with.

Ohio State fired Woody Hayes (and he was a freaking legend) for a (hard, but useless) punch in 1978. A head coach can't be out of control like that whether the punch was effective or not.

How do you guys think he won’t be fired? He just punched an opposing coach in the face on tv. I can’t see anyway Michigan can avoid canning him

my prediction is Howard will be fired, sooner rather than later and gets hired next season by Louisville or Memphis.

You can’t justify a colorful rant at the post game presser and fire a man for actions of the same kind.

They both at the end of the day represent the university. Both are either retained or terminated.

No. He’ll just say someone threw the “N” word.

Can someone clarify who was the original person Howard was arguing with and he he ultimately hit?

That was ugly. This could go either way not withstanding my joking in the earlier post.

He was originally arguing with the Wisconsin head coach, Greg Gard. He slapped Wisconsin assistant coach, Joe Krabbenhoft.

Dumb question. Actually striking an opposing coach (or player) is the bottom.

Now you could compare to Dale Brown who didn’t land his, which seems more appropriate.

Hitting a coach will be bad but salvageable with suspension. Had he connected with a player he would 100% be fired. With it being a coach it will come down to the fact he is successful at least recruiting and pretty good product on court. I feel he will not be fired.
