Who should I be watching for to make a run in 2012 or maybe 2016 if Obama gets re-elected?

It is hard for me to remember who were prior presidents running mates if they lost? I remember Doyle/Kemp, etc....Something tells me Palin wont go away though

I like Huckabee but he seems to be more of a talk show host now than a President. I wonder if Jeb Bush will ever run? He seems to be smarter than W. but I can't see another Bush in the White House.

Jeb would be the closest thing, but unfortunally the same people who voted for Obama wouldn't vote for Jeb just because his last name.

I thought it was a given it would be Romney vs Obama. Obama better be careful or he will lose, Romney can hold his own in a debate, he's not like McCain.

Be intersting if a 3rd party candidate can be taken seriously like Ron Paul, if he runs. I think he will have more support this time.

as if Obama is such a wonderful name

So, anyway, if you think about it, Obama is not really that bad a word:

O = Everybody loves "O". It can translate into surprise and joy or the Big O.

Ba = The sounds of sheep. You get relaxed and sleepy just hearing them jump over the fence.

Ma = Is there anything more powerful than the bond between a mother and child. It's very folksy to call your mother "Ma".

I think we should elect a chicken into office. That way we could simply ask the chicken a question, what direction the country would take, etc...He could choose with a peck from a list we give him....We couldn't possibly do much worse than the last two presidents plus we could get rid of the rest of our elected officials. Government would be back to a bare minimum!

OUIJA board management would suit us better. That way we could do away with the professional divisive folks out there.

And this is particularly so of the very people he would be trying to get to vote for him in terms of the Evangelicals.

I think Palin will almost surely run. I don't think she sees what her being front and center is doing to the Republican party and how divisive it might be for her to run. Actually, I think she gets a sense of it, but views it as a moral duty to run and she thinks she can win. If she does run, its going to open some wounds with the regular structure that opted for McCain and has had to deal with the post-election blame game between their operatives. Not pretty.

McCain is done.

Romney could run and be effective IF the economy has tanked. But the Mormon issue is significant. Plus, the likelihood is that the economy will be in rebound mode at that point (just naturally, not giving anyone particular credit for it).

Jindahl, eh, he might get the nomination trying to ride the line between fiscal conservative and social moderate, but its unlikely he will win if the economy is at least on the upswing.

Face it, you are likely to have 8 full years of Obama.

But what about their being a spiritual influence? Certainly in direct conflict with the separation of church and state?

What if Hitler himself seized control from the other side?

the Rs seem to be wandering in the desert at this point.... they seem to look for the "right" personality instead of looking for the person that will voice conservative ideals..

they want so badly to be liked by the other side, and it will be their downfall, as usual..
