Who was your favorite vol to watch?

I have been going to Vol games since 1970 and Stanley Morgan had the smoothest running gait of any vol I ever seen. He ran like poetry in motion.

If you have not seen him run U-Tube him it is something else to see.

There are a load of great names on here. It is fun reflecting on so many great Vols. I think the guys I appreciate most are the less talented guys who absolutely give their all for Tennessee. Guys like Billy Ratliff and Fred White come to mind. There are a lot of others too.

I was 7-8 years old when these guys were around, but #4 Terrence Cleveland and #5 Thomas Woods were heroes to me. Everytime I look back through their statistics for their careers at UT, I'm like "what? why did I love these guys?" but it was a time where we pounded the rock much more and to a kid it seemed like these two receivers caught everything that was thrown to them as a result, I guess.

Since I've been an older fan, I obviously loved watching Eric Berry. I'd generally find myself watching what he was doing on every play defensively.

Chuck Webb was a special player who should've become an NFL star. Dazzling to watch him.

As a youngster, I loved Willie Gault because anytime he got the ball you felt like something incredible was about to happen. And it often did.

Yes to all those players and I remember the 85 Auburn game when they came in no.1 with Bo Jackson for Heisman and Tony Robinson destroyed them. I'm not even sure he ran the plays called, just told the receivers to run down the field and look back. Those 40-50 yard bombs were wonderful. Sadly he tore up his knee then got arrested for drugs and went to prison. Actually played a little for the Cowboys for a short time. Glad they had him back on campus recently. Great athlete that made bad decisions.

I might add I loved watching Ricky Townsend kick barefooted. Wonder how many kids wound up with broken toes trying to emulate him?

My screen name is kind of a giveaway on this one...

Also deserving mention -- Reggie White, Heath Shuler, Peyton Manning, Travis Stephens, Casey Clausen, and Marsalis Teague (he's from my hometown, wish he had stayed at WR).

Chuck Webb....would have been one of the best RBs to ever play if he wouldn't have gotten hurt.
Peyton Manning...he is/was special.
Al Wilson....a one man wrecking crew.
Travis Henry......breaking DBs necks with his stiff arm.
