Who will have a better 2008, Dale Jr. or Kyle Busch?

As far as the Busch and Jr. comparison it's hard to say just yet. Chevrolet hasn't won a race so far and that streak won't last long. The first time Kyle Busch hits the wall hard enough that he has to be carried away by the safety crew will put an end to some of his daring moves on the track. I still think Jr. has the better year before the season is over. I am partial to the Hendrick cars though so my opinion is invalid.

Goes back to the old adage, there are old drivers and bold drivers, but not too many old and bold drivers.

Hey opinions are not invalid if they are sensible, blinded by unobjectivity, all the time, it's a VN thing.

Alan Gustafson is a good crew chief too.

No doubt hes a good crew chief, probably better that Eury... I just dont think Mears will win a race this year bc the other teams have caught up with hendrick (and possibly passed them)... jimmie johnson is even strugglin and they have no clue as to why (espn has a good article on it).. Hendrick cars were so far ahead last year that Kyle Petty could have gotten a top 20 in one  .. Btw Mears is 30th right now

Actually Denny Hamlin had already made Yeley look bad, Busch made him look worse. Since Mears drives for Hendrick, that's not a direct comparison. I wouldn't be too quick to judge Casey, he was wrecked while running well once. I expect him to win at least once.

Yes,hence my statement that he never looked good(in the 18).
Mears is driving a car Busch took to the Chase. How more direct do you want?I agree it's early, but I say Mears will fall well short of what Busch did or could do in that car.

I was nodding my head in agreement throughout this post until I came to the part about Kyle Petty...

I am banking on Hendrick finding that advantage they always seem to hit on each year. If they continue to run average than I will agree with you that Mears won't win a race. It has only been 4 races and Gordon and Earnhardt have run pretty good so it might be more of a Jimme Johnson slump than a Hendrick slump. Mears has also had bad luck like being forced to race on a wet race track and wrecking in California but he has shown signs of running well too. I am not worried about JJ because Knaus will find a way to get them up front, legal or not. :)

Hey I started to say that I could've got a top 20 in one but I figured it would be worse to say Kyle could :whistling:

well maybe if he cut his hair so its not blowing in his face, while driving around the track he could finish a little better.

Better Year? Points wise or Wins?
Right now Jr. has passed Busch in Points....

My original prediction was in favor of Busch, but Little E has been more consistant, and that's what gets you in the Chase. It's still too early to tell, but Joe Gibbs needs to calm "Rowdy" down. I believe he has stepped over the edge of his abilities, sort of like he thinks he can do no wrong.

DW says Rowdy Busch is the only guy in NASCAR who can go three wide with himself. the one thing DW has said that makes me laugh.

if Gibbs can get a guy like Smoke to scale back his act, then they won't have any problem pulling the reins in on Kyle.

I thought it was funny too. Unfortunately we will probably now hear it for about as long as that damn boogity thing.

I think we all expected Kyle to tear it up with Gibbs, but still, Hendrick has been successful on his end as well. Jr will bring in more money than Busch can ever dream of

really? Junior is more popular than Busch? thereby brining in more money?

who would have thunk it?

Only off the track, but sales of Kyle Busch cut-outs are getting hot as they are replacing the ones that look like a deer for target practice. You cannot find one anywhere in Bama.

Earlier in this thread I gave the edge in talent to Busch, and obviously he is showing that to be very possible. But I have to say I'm impressed by Jr. too, since he is the most successful and consistent of all the Hendrick drivers. I would not have guessed that. His attitude and humbleness are a measure of the man, Busch could take a lesson from him. Jr. will win some races, I say 3 and be a contender for the Cup.

Jr will win the All-Star race... only to hear everyone say it doesnt count bc its not a points race

i don't recall people saying that after he won the Shootout this year. the only difference is that it doesn't matter if you tear your car up a little bit.

the winner's circle is the winner's circle.
