Who's Expectations Have Changed?

They have changed slightly. Before the game I was expecting a bowl birth. I am now expecting a playoff birth.

For those that didn't make the connection... the following was posted in response to a gaturd fan's post in this thread where he said his expectations did not change for this year.

I think you guys are gonna win more than 4 games this year.

That's some funny right there FLVOL69... funny funny stuff.:dance2:

Let's not start this after beating a mountain west team. It shows you how far down we've been that this thread has even been started--sounds like something you'd see on a vandy board (and we've lost to vandy recently).

This comment will get buried, but I just want to be competitive in the 4th Quarter. Really. Just competitive against good teams in the fourth quarter. Back in the Fulmer days, we never were out of the game (sort of like how LSU is now). All I want is to go to the fourth quarter with at least a chance.

After last night I can understand the thought about the OL, they were the weakest position group on the field. I can kinda understand the sentiment regarding the DL, even though they exceeded expectations last night, we're still a little smallish and lack the depth we need. However, Worley was outstanding last night. He was our most valuable player last night IMO and I think he's made great strides. I know it's just one game, but why do you think he's still problematic after his performance yesterday?

Worley is gonna struggle more with accuracy with teams that can pressure him, especially those teams that can get pressure out of the front 4 without blitzing.

He looked good Sunday night but he also had plenty of time with a clean pocket to throw as well after the first couple of series.

The deep ball is never going to be a strong suit for him though and that's where guys like North and Malone could really make some plays with their size.

I'll wait until we play a real football team before amending my prediction of 6-6 although I'm beginning to lean towards 7-5 at this point.

Not my win-loss expectation, but maybe my expectation on our ability to be competitive in some of the "big" games has changed a little bit. However, I still think this is a 6-7 win team.

The D line goes back to mainly depth and how good they are actually gonna be against quality opponents off the edge.

They don't have near enough depth a D tackle and Utah ST was starting a new O line just like us so my question is can the ends get pressure against quality tackles?

If the O-line and run game had looked better I would be. They didn't look strong though so I have to say no. We definitely look more capable for getting to 7 than I thought we might.

Speaking of expectations, I don't know if some of you felt the same way, but I got the impression that Hurd was a big dude.

When I first saw him, I didn't think it was him because he didn't look that big.

He just looks small for a TE.

Yep, me too.
