Why are baseball sportsmanship rules so different than other sports?

Some of you all sound like the punk kid in the schoolyard who keeps trying to change the rules in the middle of a game just because he's losing.

The ump should be held accountable for an atrocious strike zone. If you call the game correctly then Gilbert isn’t saying anything to the ump. His poor umpiring directly lead to him being ejected.
The games is baseball and the umps are there to control the way the game is played. If you don’t like the rules, play a different game.

Then why are they in the process of bringing in technology to call balls and strikes? It’s a big problem and the powers that be recognize it is.

Some people just don’t know how to have a debate without getting personal or getting in their feelings. If you don’t agree with something, you can simply agree to disagree…

You don't want things to be personal on here, but you're good with players getting personal at umpires? Got it.

Why would it be a tragedy? To make the calls as correct as possible?
Just no. It is a human game played by humans and should be judged by humans. Umps are pretty good overall. The occasional mistake is fine.

How do you measure the fastest pitch ever? Just curious. Where is it measured?

With technology, a radar gun 😂

But where is it measured? At the plate? At release?

The reason I bring it up is because it used to be measured at the plate. But because there is this desire to crown someone the best ever, it changed to the pitcher's release. So records had to be reevaluated. Dependence on technology is overrated.

It also depends on the quality of gun you have but yes nothing will ever be 100% accurate.
