Why do you like Tennessee

That is wierd. I am from Clarksburg. I have not seen Jimmy or his kids since I was sixteen years old. Brooke and I are very nearly the same age.

Are you now in or around Dalton?

On a side note, my brother ran into Derek Weatherford (no relation) to Jimmy or Me. He had a big ol ring on his hand. He explained that some group or the other had plugged all the season statistics into the BCS formula for all teams since 1950 or so. Apparently the '67 VOLS picked up a championship by this formula.

Can anyone confirm this. Well, he had the ring. What I am asking is: Has anyone else heard about this?

Sean Weatherford (ClemsonVol)

I'm from the metropolis of Cedar Grove and I now live in Macon.

I can also confirm that the '67 Vols did get rings. My Dad does some work with Dick Williams who played on that team and was later a captain. They got the rings for winning a computer poll that is officially recognized as valid by the NCAA.

I was born on Winchester, Tn and most of my family still live there. My Dad went to school with Bill Rudder's Dad and when Bill started playing in 1969 is my first memories of following the Vols. My brother-in-law graduated with CPF. Hey, I even have a metallic orange Colorado pick-up.

Why do I like Tennessee? It feels like home. I have never lived in TN and did not go to school at UT, but it just plain feels like home. If you're a Vol, you're a part of something big. The Vols gave me something to look forward to and be a part of when I needed them. There's no place I'd rather be than Neyland or TBA. As far as I'm concerned, I'm from Tennessee.

Ever see that episode of Andy Griffith, where the guy who gets out of the Army comes and claims Mayberry as his hometown?

Well, I was born and have always lived right here in vol country and started watching it before I really knew what football was. It has became a very big part of my life, and now that Tennessee basketball is coming alive it really is a way of living

I grew up in Knoxville and my dad was in the physics dept at UT so we always had season tickets. Then when I was 16 he got a job at Ohio State.....well that was 26 years ago and I am bigger vol fan then ever and every year I want the bucks to lose.

I've had 4 grandparents, 4 uncles, 3 aunts, 2 parents, 5 cousins, and 1 sister go through the UT system. Thats my whole family except for one cousin who went else where to play football but is going to UT for graduate school. I'd be the first in my family to not go to Ut if i didnt. all hardcore ut fans.

I think one vol member already said this, but its not why i like tennessee, but why am I a volunteer. Well for one reason I attended school their(full of drunkness) our fans, our traditions, the 50 yd field goal against FL, i mean i can name many many many many reasons, I just recently moved to ohio after spending 18 years in east tennessee(dandridge) and i realize just how much i really love our team........My gf is from ohio, and i think she might even be jeolous(her family is all ND, her dad played ball their) but guess what she wears EVERY sat. ORANGE AND WHITE. gosh its thursday, i have my tennessee hat on my tennessee hoodie(it snowed here today) and i wear around with pride im stuck with nothing but big ten. Very seldom do i see a vol where i live but when i see that orange i approach and instantly we start a 30 min convo with a complete stranger......i better stop i could keep rambling.......GOD ITS GREAT TO BE A VOL

I was born in TN but lived in N.C. for most of my life. I grew up 5 minutes from Duke's campus and was a Duke b-ball fan from early on. Heck in N.C. you dont really hear much about college football..lol I had always heared about the vols of course from my parents. My dad was being recruited by the Vols to play football back in the 50's but was stripped of his eligibility due to wrestling professionally. He went on to have a really good wrestling career and is actually in the knoxville pro wrestling hall of fame but to this day wished he couldve played football for the vols. We moved back here in 1994 and I then found out what college football was all about. I couldnt really imagine living in tennessee and NOT being a vol fan. When you think of tennessee you think of volunteer football. Is there anyone on here who anytime rocky top comes on the radio you dont instantly think about the vols giving some other team a beatdown???..lol

In 1977 a girl in my class had on a Tennessee hooded sweat jacket and I told her I wanted one,so the next time she and her family made a trip to Tennessee she bought me one.So the story lives,I became a Vols fan and have been one ever since.
