Why does everyone think Strong will be a great Recruiter?

These idiots think that just because he is black that he will recruit well

If you're gonna throw out ad hominen attacks, questioning one's mental aptitude, perhaps, learn a thing or two about grammar and proper sentence structure.

Oh yes, the troubles associated with recruiting to UF. He is a superstar. Just look at their drop off in talent since he left.

Strong was in top 25 Recruiters 2 out of 3 years while at Florida. But, to be honest, there is a Florida assistant in every top 25 Recruiters list. Wonder If has anything to do with being at Florida?

Did there, I see what you did.

The fact that you're not even waiting to give the guy a signing class to prove himself, let alone a season, is pretty indicative.

Gave those to Dooley. How did that work out?

Ah yes, the ole I can't defend the hire so I'll ask who you would hire.

Doesn't matter, I am not doing the hiring, Hart is.

If Strong is it, massive fail.

I just gave Dooley 3, now someone else wants to come by with their hand out wanting one. The definative conclusion by some that Strong will take us to BCS glory has me almost doubting Strong more than I already was.

Clever response.

Too bad, I know for a fact that you were anti-Dooley far earlier than three years -- as was I.

My point is not whether he should be fired -- none of us have control over that -- but whether one should be labeling him a "bad coach" before he even signs his name on the contract.

That's a pretty flippant and reckless mindset. I made up my mind on Dooley after 13 men on the field. I genuinely hope you would give UT's new coach a chance to at least sign his first class before waving a wide brush.

Dude its the only SEC school in a talent rich state, pretty easy recruting imo.

heh. You must not follow recruiting very closely. Florida is a free for all with schools all over the country coming in and competing for the immense talent in that state. It seems like you all are trying manufacture reasons to support the idea that this is a bad hire. It makes one wonder why you are so opposed to it.

Sorry if I offended you. Is it a racist comment?

You didn't offend me, but nice try. I just find it interesting that you make backhanded comments , without having the guts to come out and say what you really mean.

I'm guessing you didn't make the comment "The Obama Effect" in relation to Strong's opinion on Macroeconomics. I think your mindset was more along the lines of "Some of you guys like Strong because he's black. Just like how some voters liked Obama."

If I'm wrong, I'd love to hear what you meant.

I never said he was a bad coach, but my guess is he will be about the middle of the pack in the SEC. I think that will hold true in recruiting and on the field. I see nothing to indicate he can comepete with the established big boys of the SEC. I just wish people would be honest and say they hope he is good, just like I hope he is good if he is our coach. Yet, to this point I have not seen any evidence to it.

Fair enough. I can respect that. I just think he has enough of a pedigree that, even if you don't agree with the hire, he at least has earned a shot to complete his first class, before some judge his actual tenure.

If you're implying that I'm bitter about this hire you are wrong. I love this hire because I think he's a good coach. Check my post from earlier about Strong. If you deny the fact that Strong being black won't affect recruiting I believe you're wrong.

If that's the case, I apologize, and egg on my face. I jumped in the last two pages.

Didn't know I knew you. Either that or you got that ESP thing going on to know what I was thinking when. LOL

Most of Volnation gave Dooley a fair chance, IMO. It didn't work and I am not sure Strong will get as long.

Again, IMO, the worst thing that can happen to the Vols and the fans is another mediocre or worse hire that keeps us at the status quo or worse.
