This and the man has tried to make admissions standards for a STATE institution equal to that of private Ivy League types. It's causing us to lose out on a number of athletes

Players are not allowed to get degrees in criminal justice and other lesser reguarded (to cheeks anyway) fields that UT players used to be attracted to.

Yes, this was the other thing that I'd read about. Thanks. I'm certainly no supporter of Cheeks; from everything I've read, he's made just about everything between athletics and the academics side into a political, personal pissing match over territory, which makes him a terrible fit at a school like UT. I'd have no problem replacing him.

I just think the idea that's suddenly taken hold that we're losing games because we're at a significant academic disadvantage is a little silly. We're losing games because we've had awful coaching.

UT's entrance requirements would have to change by an order of magnitude to move into the Vanderbilt class. Cheek hasn't done that and he isn't going to.

Phillip Fulmer for AD! Phil would step on booger eating geeks like that buffoon Cheek to better Tennessee Football, not drag them along to interview new coaches.

Hate is a pretty strong word.

His handling of some of the items mentioned above, have left me with the impression that his leadership skills are lacking. He also does not seem to be able to deal with delicate issues very effectively, especially those that will most likely end up in the public eye.

My perception is ... he exhibits an air of an academic snobbery. I understand that he is obsessed with the AAU. Association of American Universities
"Membership in AAU is by invitation ..." Vandy, Missouri and Florida are the only SEC schools that are part of this "fraternity". This obsession is what I think was driving the efforts to consolidate the political/power structure toward the Academic side, to the detriment of the UTAD (not just Football).

Until very recently, he appears to have underestimated the significance that a healthy and winning Athletic Dept has on the financial well being of the overall University.

His hiring has made we wonder if the BOT is up to the task.

I was against Fulmer for AD, and I still think Charles Davis would be the best candidate, but with some time gone since his firing, I think it would be a massive improvement over the Tales of the Crypt host (Hart).

That is embarrassing....taking your wife and Cheek with you to try and close the deal on Charlie Strong.
