Why is everyone bashing Tennessee?

Big lead is 24-6! It would be dumb to think the coaches didn't want to put the game out of reach more when Tennessee is known to score 21 points in a quarter . Troll!
I can’t defend 1996 for his comments in the other thread about throwing screen passes. I highly disagreed with that assessment. Screens went out the window when Small got hurt early. He’s the only back we have with any hands that could catch one. And I doubt screens would have done much anyway. GA was rushing 5 and dropping 6 every play. They had folks to make the tackles in space. And they didn’t miss a single tackle all night. Also not sure our OLine is quick enough to get out in front of a screen.

With all due respect though, I agree with 1996 that we took a butt whipping in every facet of that game. Georgia absolutely took their foot off the gas after going up 24 to 6 and we didn’t score on the first possession of the second half. They only threw 4 passes and they weren’t going to risk giving us a turnover that we could take advantage of. Crowd noise certainly affected us but it was more the fact that GA had more talent in the D line and DB and those positions dominated the game. Don’t know how anybody can look at it any other way. If we are lucky enough to make the playoff and get them on a neutral field and we make a few tweaks, maybe we get closer. Have to wait and see on that.

I’ve been accused of a lot of things. Being a Bammer ain’t one of them.
thanks for stalking!!
Not stalking. You're posting trashing Tennessee on a Tennessee board, and it's available for all to see. You're surprised when someone says something about it?

I’m not trashing Tennessee. I haven’t said anything. VFL hasn’t said. Get lost.

Playing SC in a night game, and it Will be the one that would put a cherry on their season. I think you underestimate playing on the road in the SEC.
Last true test of the year. Their crowd will be into it and their team will be jacked up. I still see a 14-21 point win. They're just not that good. We'd have to give them some cheapies.

My advice, whether wanted or not. Vols fans cease whining, focus on supporting our team to beat the snot out of everyone else on schedule.
If you have enough GO VOLS! in you, you have no time for whining about how folks treat the UT teams.
I agree, i really think it will help us if we win big in our next three games. Ive never really been one to want to run up the score but i feel it will only help us in this situation

What we need to do is 1)shut up,2)strap up3) crush the misery, lamecocks, and candyland4)then see what the hell happens to the rest of the teams.GBO!

You would think we put ourselves in the #1 position last week. We were given the vote. Now that we lost one game, we are being made the butt of jokes. Bama loses, and you have tears and handkerchiefs coming out. Mourning of the fallen leader and a dirge is sung.

Clemson loses to a team that is coming back but is still shaky. We lose to the best team in the country and 2021 champion, and you would think we did not belong on the same field with them. We did score and could have made some strides to either tie and win or give them a much better game.

I will continue to wear my gear in GA. No shame in losing in a game we were not really prepared to take on. Onward! Forward! Next game up.
Georgia started the bashing...on the field. Some will look at the score and think it wasn't that bad, but that game was THE game of the year and we got our arses whipped. Much worse than the score indicates and anyone who watched the game knows it. It does open the doors to having our team questioned. If it had been a tough, hard fought, close game, I don't think the doubters would be as plentiful. Hell, I'm doubting this team a little myself. The aura of invincibility is long gone and any reasonable person would question if UT is really that good or if maybe opponents are starting to figure our schemes out and do they have enough hosses to do what UGA did? It's also fair to wonder what the teams psyche is like after a beat down like UGA administered? Will we brush it off and resume beating folks senseless or will we have doubt creep in and maybe have us questioning things? We earned being questioned. We earned dropping in the polls and playoff rankings. We can start working our way back Saturday with a big ol' impressive win vs Mizzou. Question being....will we?

It’s what happens when you are a doormat for the most part of 15 years.

Before Georgia- everyone saying Tennessee will still be in a great spot even with a loss!
After Georgia- Tennessee going to be on the outside looking in!
These talking heads are no smarter than any of us. Some of the stuff they spew is clearly to get all of us to do what we are doing. ( give them attention)
As much as they think they are on the committee they are not so they have to create a show to generate drama to talk about!

You make a lot of sense with this. We have to be concerned with football timidity. Will Hooker flinch when a blitz comes? Will the OL vindicate itself or think they are not good enough after the loss? Coaches can do a lot to alleviate some of this but most of it will come in the minds of the players. Is the challenge to get to the Playoffs still strong enough to win out or are they demoralized?

Probably a combination of things. Some things that come to mind are that there’s legitimate fear among multiple fanbases in and out of the SEC because of our talented coach and the meteoric rise of our program. Seeing us humbled reinforces the belief of those folks that we’re not back. It does help that argument when UGA made us look like Vandy. Imagine how you’d feel as a UK/LSU/Bama fan looking at what’s happening on Rocky Top.

Another factor is we’re very present and vocal on Twitter and other social media and those fans can be rabid. That makes people happy to see us lose.

Lastly, I think SEC fatigue and less than favorable media coverage has made people eager to hate on UT.

Last year UGA got whooped by bama and a few weeks later returned the favor.

This year we need to turn the tables on Georgia and let them know it's when you lost that is most important!
I’d like to but the line of scrimmage variance was so large and evident that we’re not going to be able to do that.

Ok forget that.. it's possible
I think in 2011 or 2012 when Bama had those dominant teams (better than UGA this year) some book had said they’d be 28 point dogs to the league worst Browns. The worst pro team will always beat the beat college team because they’re collegiate all stars from multiple years who do nothing but eat, drink, and sleep football.

That was the score on paper but anybody that watched the game saw it as a complete annihilation. That's why every Single sports media publication or outlet is talking about the fact that the score does not adequately reflect how bad Georgia really beat Tennessee. Georgia did nothing but manage the Clock the second half and everyone saw that because they didn't have to do anything else. They played Tennessee at their peak whereas Oregon has done nothing but improve every week. It will be interesting to see what happens if Oregon wins their division championship. Everyone knows that Georgia put on the brakes the second half just to run out the clock but if they wanted to score more they could have.

If that’s really the case, why didn’t uga just manage the clock against Oregon? Why score an additional 21 points against a former assistant and totally destroy him but let your arch rival Vols off the hook and basically not score in the 2nd half? Completely bogus argument Clayton. The reality is Kirby knew we could come back in that game and it wasn’t that far away. 2 dropped deep balls and numerous false starts along with a miracle punt gave them the margin of victory. If he could’ve scored more he absolutely would have. You people are funny.
