Why is everyone bashing Tennessee?

You would think we put ourselves in the #1 position last week. We were given the vote. Now that we lost one game, we are being made the butt of jokes. Bama loses, and you have tears and handkerchiefs coming out. Mourning of the fallen leader and a dirge is sung.

Clemson loses to a team that is coming back but is still shaky. We lose to the best team in the country and 2021 champion, and you would think we did not belong on the same field with them. We did score and could have made some strides to either tie and win or give them a much better game.

I will continue to wear my gear in GA. No shame in losing in a game we were not really prepared to take on. Onward! Forward! Next game up.
I’ll let you in on a secret some media personalities say crap that they know not to be true to generate interest. Tennessee will continue to watch the crap bc they’re pissed, west coast fans will watch them bc they want any hope that one of their teams will get in.

I could be wrong but I don’t see Oregon ever making it. Period. You can’t lose by 46 to anyone and make the playoffs.

What’s the last team that made the finals/playoffs with that bad a resume?

There is no way they where comfortable with that lead if they could have scored they would have. We could have scored and they fumbled the kickoff especially in the rain and in 30 seconds it's game on. Would you have been comfortable with that margin i wouldn't.

"Many people felt we were invincible." Who were these people, and why did they feel that way?

We needed OT to beat Pittsburgh, and we had a meltdown in the last 7 minutes of the Florida game, which nearly burned us. This team has flaws which had been exposed prior to Saturday.

If we finish up strong with an 11-1 record, a #4 seed in the CFP is possible, with an invite to the Sugar Bowl being the worst case scenario. That's not bad, considering that we were 7-6 last year.
I agree, prior to the Georgia we were all cautiously hopeful for the most part, but not thinking it was a sure thing, and we put the ‘fun’ in dysfunctional.. we did the typical bravado thing but tempered with being rational for the most part.. some dislike us as a fanbase because we are extremely loyal and they don’t get it lol

We are known for our offense and our offense looked like crap.

Others teams don’t get hit as hard after a loss because we are Tennessee and they aren’t.

That was the score on paper but anybody that watched the game saw it as a complete annihilation. That's why every Single sports media publication or outlet is talking about the fact that the score does not adequately reflect how bad Georgia really beat Tennessee. Georgia did nothing but manage the Clock the second half and everyone saw that because they didn't have to do anything else. They played Tennessee at their peak whereas Oregon has done nothing but improve every week. It will be interesting to see what happens if Oregon wins their division championship. Everyone knows that Georgia put on the brakes the second half just to run out the clock but if they wanted to score more they could have.
Complete nonsense.

Do you not understand the game of football at all?

I don't you guys Tennessee's performance let down everyone that hasn't been on the Tennessee bandwagon in 20 years. It was an awful performance. Even if the defense struggled, struggling to put up 13 points was a just a unlikely outcome. It's the reason we had no chance to be in the game that was only a couple touchdowns difference.

TCU - 3 potential Losses - Baylor, Texas, & Conference Championship
Michigan - 2 Potential Losses - Ohio State, Illinois, and Conference Championship
Ohio State - 2 Potential Losses - Michigan & Conference Championship
Oregon - 2 Potential Losses - Utah & Conference Championship
USC - 2 Potential Losses - UCLA, Notre Dame, & Conference Championship
Clemson- 1 Potential Loss - Conference Championship

LSU is a sleeper and don't see them getting in.
Ole Miss has to win out, hope LSU drops another and the beat GA.

Don't sleep on Louisville. With the way they have played recently, they can upset the tigers.

Hey, we have been an SEC doormat for decades now, so our sudden rise baffled the legions who consider us bottom dwellers and, by us losing, makes them feel good about themselves. We are not worthy of a #1 seed (in their opinions) and they would just assume we drop in the coming weeks.

PS We will not drop, we will rise my brothers, rise!!

What did you expect? Vol fans escalated immediately to putting 50 on UGA. I’m still amazed that everyone just takes it for granted that we’ll win out.

I am concerned about sc on the road. I know many think it will be easy, but imo we will have to play better than we did at Ga to win.

I'll take "Things you think you'll never say" for $1,000
Hey, I like Luther on the football forum, he is a very devoted fan, and even though we probably disagree on a lot of things, he is always very cordial 😆

Because a lot of our fans talked a lot of crap and then they got smacked in the mouth.

No, they couldn't. If they could have, they would have.
Georgia could probably beat some NFL teams. They beat Tennessee and Oregon like a drum. Face the facts: we don't have enough talent to match the superior play.

That's not bashing. It's enviousness. They know CJH just took a group of players to the number one spot who don't belong. They know exactly what that means when he gets some real big boys on the hill.

This Georgia loss is just what they hoped for. But we aren't going anywhere. We just getting started fools....

I think it's better not to talk Vol football up bc history has proved they frequently crumble when they have so much praise.. I think this weekend may be tougher than most think between UT and Missou. Hope we win!

The Lions or Texans wound beat Georgia by 70 points, at least.

Please tell me you're joking.
We have talent, absolutely! But not like Georgia. It's not fair either. Georgia has massive players. They just push us around. I hate that! I'm just saying we need a couple of solid recruiting classes yet to stuff them imo. I hope they have a rematch this year and prove me wrong and wup that fanny.

I think it's just how Tennessee looked in the loss and the fact that we were #1 for last week above Georgia. And the game just simply wasn't as close as the final score indicates. I don't think I buy the narrative that Georgia took their foot off the pedal exactly but they also were in control the entire game and it just never was in doubt, sadly.

could care less what anyone says about us

unless it factors into not getting a CFP spot...but not much I can do about that. White and CJH can though

Shouldn't have put us there. It was all a set up. So we could look bad and the media could go on and on about how much Vol football is joke.
