Why is it taking so long to turn around?

Regardless of what the Negas or sunshines want to say, this weekend will show everything we need to know about whether or not Dooley will be around for another season.

In theory you still have UK, Troy, Mizzou and Vandy on the schedule as well, but I understand what you are saying....and have heard the same.

Just to be clear.

UT hired a WAC coach with one good season ever.

Ever.

Why is anyone surprised with the results?

Why does this have to be about Coach Dooley? Could it be that we were just that low and 3 years is not enough to bring us back to the top? USC's (east) roster was not in as sad as shape as ours and it took the O B C. Seven years to get them competitive! So again has Dooley had enough time? I am sure some of you will B*&%$ that he has had all the time in the world. Let me say this to each of you. Your hurting the program. You don't have a vote in who is here and you need to support who is here, no matter whom it is! Your hurting recruiting and that will just make the job that much harder! Get over yourself your a fan not the AD! Coach Hart said improvement....who is gonna say this is not better than last year?

Maybe La Tech current coach is the one we want. If they beat a&m we should take advantage of our la tech connection.

IMHO...I think the mistake began when Hamilton fired Fulmer WITHOUT a replacement ready to take over...what a freakin idiot!!!

If he had done that, we never would've had Kiffin and we never would be talking about this right now.

Instead, we had to rush into both hires (more so with Dooley) and here we are!

Hammy was an idiot. And even his bad budgeting is out in the open.

it is just going to take time, can't ya'll see the lack of talent? especially on the D ? it isn't all on the coaches,as far as the DBs go,which is a major pain right now,it seems to me there are to many coaches for the secondary,to be playing so poorly

one of the announcers on TV said it best last week,UT has linebacker speed in the secondary and in my opinion a overall lack of speed on the D,that will mean a couple of more years of recruiting to fix that and no,you can expect new recruits to be up to SEC play in there first year, them type of players are few and far between

CSS will need a few years at the least,to get the D up to where it needs to be,all this negativity has got to be killing the recruiting effort this year and remember a lot of people were saying the rebuild at UT was most likely a 5 or 6 year rebuilding effort

I don't even blame DD. I just want to know why it takes us 5 years and we're still in the bottom half of the east. I don't get it.

If you've been around Tennessee football the last several years and don't know the answer to this question, then you're either in denial, or just haven't been paying attention to what's been going on.

The better question is, what are we rebuilding from? The last time we were relevant was 2007 and the last time we were competing for a NC was 2001. So, it has been 6 years since we have been relevant and 11 since we were competing for NC. We have been rebuilding for 10 years and haven't gotten anywhere.

Great point. We need a good hire Mr Hart!

Well, there are 7 teams in the SEC East. 120 teams in the FBS. 3/7 (42.857%) of the SEC East teams are in the top 14 of the AP Top 25 (that would be 88th percentile of The FBS).

Stay with me...

So if Vols finish ahead of Vandy, KY, and Missouri, they would be 4th out of 7 in the East (not where I want us to be, but again, stay with me) and we would be just as much a part of the top half of the East as the bottom half.

So I am confused... What was your question?

Beating Vandy, Mizzo, and Ky is a big if.

Where is UT in defense in the FBS %?

With all the rampant rumors flying through the web who knows what is going on?
I have indeed come to the conclusion that if Dooley does remain the Coach, UT will "always" be in the bottom 3rd of the conference. The SEC is so very competitive these days and I just can't see Dooley being able to recruit Top 10 or even Top 15 Talent, muchless coach up the players to get us in the dicussion of possible championships. If Dooley remains the HC the future of UT Football is Bleak......Hopeless
