yea i think you guys should def try to get atleast 2 OL with your last spots

1 is never a good idea we got 1 DL last yr and its showing with lack of depth and guys getting worn out

We took a good load last year and the year before. We don't need more than 1 OL this year.

Agree- 19 and 20 year-olds going against 21-23 year-olds makes it tough...they will get there after another year of lifting weights..

I totally understand why you hardcore recruitniks around here get annoyed with the "lazy" poster that hops on the board looking for recruiting updates without taking the time or making even the slightest effort to actually search for the answers on their own. I get that, I really do because I have noticed that the amount of time I spend on VN is directly correlated to my own level of annoyance with these types of threads. You know the threads I'm referencing, something along the lines of "I've been at the North Pole since the end of last season, so how is recruiting going for the Vols this year?"

However, in contrast to my thought process when I'm on here all the time, when life gets busy or I get so busy at work that I can barely check in at all, I've noticed that I actually pick up a lot of great info & updates from these types of threads. Sometimes, avoiding the sacrifice of time and energy needed to check each player thread is the only way that I can stay somewhat in the loop on things. Usually, once things settle down again and I have more time to spend perusing leisurely, I will then go back and check out the individual threads as well.

Sorry for rambling about nothing of consequence here, but I say all of this because I want to point out that a lot of those threads that many on here probably cringe at, often serve a fantastic and useful purpose to many of your fellow Vol brethren out here that are too busy to stay plugged in as much as they wish they could, not bc of pure laziness.

On topic, I believe orange_country has really opened a lot of people's eyes as to what is really going on with the OL this year, thankfully. I see the truth in this reasoning and although our RB's and OL have been very disappointing to an almost embarrassing point in league play thus far, I am now less concerned about why the coaches have been unable to produce a quick fix for the issue. I think a lot of Vol fans were thinking that the OL was going to be a strength this season and when the running game regressed, with no personal experience as a proper reference point, most people immediately assumed that this must mean the coaching has been awful. I do think we need at least 1 good OL this year and a future star quality RB would be an understandable area of emphasis and hopefully, by next season we will have all forgotten what a bad running game looked like.

I think everyone who thinks the running game has regressed from last season as a whole just has selective memory. Our running game started regressing when Bray, Fulton, and Stone became starters. It was bad the last five games of last year, and it's not really gotten worse this year. After reading orange_country, I imagine that means we changed blocking schemes when we changed personnel.

I'm not down on Dooley, like many on this site. But, I do feel he needs to re-evaluate Chaney and Hiestand at the end of the year and Hiestand probably needs to go. Our running game has gotten worse this year, with the exception of a minimal improvement in pass blocking.
