Why not Tulsi Gabbard

Was that during one of Obama's draw downs/freeze on hirings?

Those don't have a particular "cycle" so to speak. Career field shortages both happen at random times and affect different areas for various reasons. They can't really be attributed to a particular President or their policies.

Case in point, there was a satellite operator shortage during the Bush years. Too many .mil folks were bouncing to work with Lockheed or Northrop making $65K a year starting salary.

Gabbard was raised in part according to the teachings of the Science of Identity Foundation (SIF) religious community and its spiritual leader, Chris Butler.[34][35][36] She has said Butler's work still guides her.[37] In 2015, Gabbard called Butler her guru dev (roughly, "spiritual teacher").[25][38] Gabbard's husband and ex-husband have also been members of the community.[38][35] Gabbard has been reluctant to speak publicly about the SIF.[36]

Gabbard embraced the Hindu faith as a teenager.[24][39][40] Her first name comes from the Sanskrit word for holy basil, a plant sacred in Hinduism.[41] Her siblings also have Hindu Sanskrit-origin names.[24] She was homeschooled through high school except for two years at informal schools in the Philippines.[25][42]

Now that sounds like a real "cult"

You left out M4A. I have never understood the Tulsi hype on this board given the vast majority of folks on here are conservatives. She is much closer to a DSA Bernie/AOC type than a moderate Democrat and about a million miles away from the GOP on the majority of issues, but this board falls all over itself for her.

Believe it or not, there are plenty of people on the conservative side who believe that a person's principles and ethics are more important than political thoughts. You can argue and perhaps persuade an honest person because facts do matter. A dim bulb or other "revolutionary" can be so entrenched in belief that compromise of any sort is impossible.

Its funny.

The lady who sold Russia a lot of US Uranium, gave them a reset button, and whose family has directly benefitted from the Russians; accuses another woman who served the US military of being a Russian stooge. we are supposed to believe it's the vet who is on the take.

Hiliary is no lady. Even human is doubtful.

What special skills did Pete have?

Well, it's always been said that Military Intelligence is an oxymoron - and they manage to prove it time after time. Note that all the other examples for a DCO have a quantifiable skill set. My wife was a DCO (now retired); she had several years of nursing experience and a BS and MS in nursing at the time.

One of the politicians or lobbyists groups he worked for pulled some strings for him. He could have easily gone the OCS route.

I know horseshoe theory is a thing, but really? She is a Bernie DSA type. She aligns with Bernie Sanders more often than not. She is way further left than Biden.

Now that you put it that way. She's not commie Bernie though. He is molding the squad.

WTF? She's not AOC or Ilhan Omar. I would like to know which positions those are, because she certainly doesn't wear them on her sleeve like the rest of those clowns do.

I'll let you peruse this at your leisure:

Tulsi Gabbard on the Issues

No, she's certainly not like AOC or the little Somali terrorist, she's far more intelligent than either of them. But she does hold many of the same viewpoints. In short, domestic policy wise, she is Bernie-lite.

Solid post.

Agreed, I want an honest (as much as a politician can be), ethical and articulate person in office. We haven't had a candidate with all those qualities in decades. Candidates having all three should be the norm, not the exception.

Gabbard self-identifies as a progressive, progressives have always been the practical cousins of socialists and uniformly supported by domestic and international Marxist groups, as Democrats are generally.

Gabbard is either a political opportunist of the highest order, or a socialist with enough chameleon to project a 'throwback to when Dems were sensible' image, that you can see what you want to in her. I think the preponderance of support she's received from socialist groups and openly "proudly" accepted, their functions she attends, the openly leftitst policies she's signed onto such as B. Sanders candidacy, the Green New Deal, universal Medi, and $15/min. wage, etc. indicates she more likely the latter.

She's an intelligent, well-spoken person, and nice looking woman. Many have been taken in by her that should dig beneath the veneer, people like Tucker Carlson, for example. Others have reported on her Marxist positions and associations; KeyWiki has a concise summary: Tulsi Gabbard - KeyWiki

i don't see marked sinister motive in the fact that Russia amplified coverage of her, her stance on global U.S. militarism, or that the U.S. and Europe prolonged and made the Syrian civil war worse. However, the long associations with and endorsements by Marxists people and groups cannot be some coincidence, especially when she chooses them and their support.

I'd trust Tulsi as far as I could throw her and still have her land on the mattress.
