Why QB play will be good.

Worley will be the starter. I don't know why this is question.

Dobbs will get a ton of reps and will probably get a start or two. He deserves it and will be the returning senior Qb in 2015. Senior as in playing time, not class....

We will have an epic Qb battle going into 2015 and I'm excited for it.

Spring practice came and went with no QB taking the lead. I think we have average QB at best.

Why would you declare a winner and potentially halt competitiveness that early, so what if people outside looking in perceive it as us not knowing who the guy is and think it's a weakness, let them, I bet our coaches know.

More talented or as talented as the following teams

Utah st.
Chatt
Ark st
Vandy
UK
Mizzou
Ole miss

Enough talent to beat the following teams IF we play great

USC
UGA
OU
UF

UF is a near lock as a win I might add, we will pins them at Neyland.

Agree with your first "as talented as" list. But tell me again how UF, a program that's beaten UT 16 of the last 20 times, including the last 9 in a row, is a "near lock win"?

None of thAt matters. You like to bring up the past a lot but it means nothing just like it meant nothing when Kentucky beAt us. We have a new team, new attitude and a new age ahead. Something is in motion and it cannot be stopped.

Because its VN and Summer..lol fla wins 9 games min this year n everyone will be saying man they were more talented than us and that's why we lost..

Last yr was the worst I've seen fla play in 20 yrs n our coaches blew it..fla will not be that bad again I promise

That's right. He was solid, should have beaten UGA, would have beaten vandy if he plays and also would have had a chance to beat Mizzou.

I must have been watching different games. He was solid as a very vanilla QB but in regards to the system CBJ is putting in place he was awful. Everyone knew he would never run the ball. How many times did he run it for positive yardage that season? 3 times maybe? Unless Worley improves by leaps and bounds I am afraid its going to be another bad season.

What's your definition of a bad season? He played well enough last year to get 7 wins, if he had played against vandy and pig doesn't fumble. Could have beaten mizzou. If he plays like that this year or progresses some, like he should, I don't see how he can't lead the team to 7-8 wins.

Jones has been doing that since he arrived... some folks just don't want to accept Worley for whatever reason. He is and has been the starter except for one disastrous week and while he was injured.

If it were any different then spring would have been the key opportunity for someone to pass him They apparently couldn't.

Bad season nowdays is 5-7.. Worley can't sell the run plain and simple. If that changes I will agree that he can get 7 wins this season.

I want a QB thats so much better than the rest that even our coaches can recognize it and admit it, not just the geniuses on Vonation.

It was a recent poster on here who brings good inside info who said (to paraphrase) "People around here buy too much into the hype and coach speak. There has never been a question among the coaches who the starter will be in the 2014 season." Which if you read all the signs makes perfect sense. No need to worry, Worley has the reins and has a much better receiving corp around him.

They do recognize it. You are just waiting for them to say it rather than just paying attention to their every meaningful action in regard to who the starter is.

It may be more obvious in the future coming from the media but it is unlikely that Jones will ever have a situation in which he doesn't consider the QB's in competition with the job up for grabs.

Yes. He "can" sell the run.

He didn't last year and there are at least two possibilities for why: 1) he consistently made bad reads and the coaches did NOTHING to force him to do so or 2) they didn't want to get injured because they wanted to RS the inexperienced guys behind him.

You can decide for yourself which is more reasonable... in light of the fact that Worley WAS effective when he took off with it.

I bring up the past with Florida because it seems to continually predict the future outcome. Kentucky has beaten UT once in the last 28 years or so making it a pretty bad comparison IMO.

I'll forget the past 20 years for a second and just look at the circumstances around this years game. Florida is more talented than UT, has more depth than UT, has a new coordinator to replace their awful one from last year and will surely not suffer the unprecedented amount of injuries they did last year.....when they won 4 games and still beat UT. I hope beyond all hope that UT finally ends the losing streak but I won't believe it til I see it.

They didn't look talented last year. I am honestly not sure how the teams will compare this fall. IMHO, the trajectory of the two programs is near opposite with Jones vs Muschamp.

I think the OC argument is an interesting one. Roper as far as I know has coached under Cut in all of his significant jobs. Cut we all know is a very good offensive coach. So how much of Roper's success as OC at Duke was him and how much Cut? Does he have the personal leadership ability to correct the internal problems in his group?

FL is never, ever a "lock" or even a "near lock."
