Why UT will get a big time coach.

1,3,4,6 are completely false.

1) Your arena is big but it's old and lacks other new age/NBA technology. Practice facilities are state of the art but 40 universities have similar practice arrangements.

3) consistent winner? 15 losses this year bruh. You've made 1 elite eight and no SEC crowns.

4) foothold in Atlanta recruiting? You just fired your entire staff and gave the one cheater a bonus while screwing the rest. Forbes had ties to ATL but unless you're talking about Dooley, you're out of your mind

6) the university isn't compelled to make some big hire. They're compelled to hire someone that can stay out of trouble and maybe win a few games.

You are a piece of garbage to this board. Come back when your conference USA team is able to beat us again.

I'm still trying to figure out how an arena built in 1987 is old.

Take away this year, and I would venture to bet we were in the top in wins of BCS programs.

Yes, the coach is gone, but still, we at least have connections there. We'll see if the new coach can capitalize.

The university just fired the most popular coach since Johnny Majors in the 80's, more popular than Fulmer. They sure as hell better get a good coach.

Transitive property does not work in sports.

I am literally scared having people with your level of intelligence walk the streets of Memphis. Your comments are just mind-boggling.

Im just glad he doesnt paint his chest and run around in public like a 12 year old coach

Nope he doesn't have to paint his chest to look like he is 12 all he has to do is climb out of his bunk beds and run downstairs for his mom to tell him he is a big boy now...:)

I don't have the first clue. I'm just going by what other, much more knowledgeable posters than myself, are saying on here.

I thought you had the goods since you were telling others to do some research. :)

I'll be the first to admit, before tonight I didn't know the first thing about Martin.

:hi:

I didnt say UTK had bad facilities but top 10 in the nation? Please. CUSA has a dark horse every year too. Florida had two great years and average this season. Kentucky has only been good the last couple of years. Vandy? The team that has lost in the NCAA first round to a double digit seed three years straight? Solid.

Earth to lylsmorr.... the name of the thread is "Why UT will get a big time coach"....

I'm saving this post. If we aren't hammered by the NCAA and Martin is doing well in 3 years, I'll bump it to remind you. If he has a losing record in any of the three seasons without big NCAA sanctions, I'll leave the site for good.

well I know this..... he was a head coach for only three years and in his first year at Missouri State he was 11 and 20....

so you should take your own advice about research.

No, YOU should yet again. He was left with nothing at Mo State. He built that program in recent years from a nothing, bottom feeding MVC team and he took them to their first conference title ever built on players he brought in, in only his third year ever as a head coach. That's the facts.

and according to CM, neither he nor his rep was ever contacted by mizzou or their people for the mizzou job.

Just like Bruce was never contacted for the Memphis job, according to Bruce. Right? All the Bruce lovers on here swear to this day that he was in fact contacted.

How was he doing by his third year, you know, after building the program?
