A good hire doesn't always equate to a successful tenure. There are a lot of variables involved. Tennessee
is not the Mecca of basketball that some delusional fans
think it is. I hope for the best but figure we will be back
to thinking that 20 wins and an occasional trip to the dance is doing great.

The days of Dickey hiring Buzz Peterson are OVER. We will get a respectable coach(save for Purnell) or a rising young asst. and things will be fine in a few years.

If you don't realize that we have top notch facilities and that we will be able to compete with any school in regards to salary, then you, sir, are the one who is delusional.

the NCAA fired pearl, not Hamilton or the school,,,,,people have had enough of Hamilton to worry he will do a bad job on the next coach pick.....all of this is reasonable but a tad paranoid.....i'm gonna go get me some dimonds.....

Bingo!

Nobody to blame but himself and his followers have nobody to blame but themselves. UT athletic programs are and will always be more important than the individual program coaches. They are well paid employees that have a job to do in the way it is supposed to be done - by the rules of the NCAA as well as the expectations and policies of the school.

Hence no more Pearl and no more Fulmer. We thank them for their accomplishments and wish them well in the future.

I am just wondering when all the Pearlites are going to wake up and realize that MH was not the one that conducted the cookout, lied to the NCAA, covered up Williams failed drug test and the list goes on. Bruce dug his own grave and now he has to live with it. I totally respect the job that Bruce did for this team, but i guess he thought he was invincible like most of you think. TN will hire a solid coach and we will be fine. Go Vols!!!

We lost to UTEP by 27 but beat them when the NCAA tourney was at stake. I bet you guys are glad you arent in the Big Ten though. Sheesh.

Pretty much. But I didnt really start this argument. I just made comments contradicting some of the asinine things said by the OP. I expected to be attacked. I cant really defend our team from this past season but considering the way it ended and the issues we faceed, Im excited going into next season.

find someone outside of Knoxville that puts you in the top 10 in facilities. Make it farther than the Elite Eight once. Why dont you start by winning the conference tournament. The AD is under no pressure to hire a big name. He needs to hire someone thats not going to commit anymore stupid violations at the moment or he is toast.

Dykes said we have "the best facilities in the nation." But, I'm sure Mr. Mid-Major knows better. Have fun with Rice and East Carolina, and we'll have fun on ESPN.
