Why UT will get a big time coach.

Dykes said we have "the best facilities in the nation." But, I'm sure Mr. Mid-Major knows better. Have fun with Rice and East Carolina, and we'll have fun on ESPN.

Our new TV contract is with Fox, a major network. And East Carolina and Rice are just conference mates. Have fun with Ole Miss and Auburn

Why we won't: because we have a chancellor who thinks it's his job to fire coaches and just leave the AD with the scraps of finding a new coach. He needs to take a step back and realize that he should leave all those duties to the AD, and go find one that he can trust with all of thos responsibilies.

We can agree to disagree.

find someone outside of Knoxville that puts you in the top 10 in facilities. Make it farther than the Elite Eight once. Why dont you start by winning the conference tournament. The AD is under no pressure to hire a big name. He needs to hire someone thats not going to commit anymore stupid violations at the moment or he is toast.

Well, this is just stupid. UT does have great facilities. No one with a brain would argue that point. CUSA, please. The SEC tourney is a very difficult conference to win with the likes of UF, Vandy, and UK consistently good. Plus, a dark horse always makes a run, like UGA last year and Bama this year. The AD has to hire a coach that will WIN, not just a coach that abides by the rules. Hamilton is under A TON of pressure, IMO. If he does that and the coach doesn't win, he'll be fired. Winning = money.

I didnt say UTK had bad facilities but top 10 in the nation? Please. CUSA has a dark horse every year too. Florida had two great years and average this season. Kentucky has only been good the last couple of years. Vandy? The team that has lost in the NCAA first round to a double digit seed three years straight? Solid.

I don't think you can still "agree to disagree" when one party is factually wrong. Unless that's your way of admitting that you're wrong, in which case... agree to disagree.

Easily top ten. Probably top 5

Have you been to TBA in the last couple of years? Have you been to Pratt Pavillion? If not, then you should refrain from comment

Im not "factually wrong" about any of this. My sources might be incorrect but considering who they are,I tend to believe them.

I havent been to TBA since Pearls second season (2007?) I do agree that PRatt PAvilion is quite nice.

For instance, claiming that Tennessee lost to Ole Miss this year... agree to disagree? No SEC titles with Bruce?

That's agreeing to disagree with man's capacity for rational thought and objective knowledge. Not typical message board fodder, but I'd be interested to see the argument.

Did yall beat Ole Miss? I forget. AndBruce has never won the SEC Tournament. He won the regular seaosn title in 2008 though.

The administration should do the OPPOSITE of what this fanbase thinks about basketball.

No

all the conf affilation stuff doesnt really matter. Memphis swept 9th place UCF who beat SEC champ Florida who won 3 games vs TN who beat Memphis by 20.

I'll take our 12 year old coach and the direction of program over the shambles that UT is in. By the way, Pastner wouldnt take a step down to come to Knoxville. Memphis has: better facilites, better recruiting base, more tradition.

Thanks for the "lols".

That proves transitivity arguments fail in basketball. I'm not sure what you think it proves about conference affiliations.

UT's basketball facilities definitely are in the top ten in the nation. Pratt Pavilion is one of the best practice facilities in the country. After the renovations TBA is one of the best college basketball arenas in the country. In the SEC Kentucky's the only school with better facilities.

None of that is remotely true with the exception of your recruiting base. Your facilities, while pretty decent, don't stack up. And no, you don't have more tradition. That's the funniest one

FedExForum is an NBA arena. Its better than TBA.

As for tradition--- which school has been the elite 8 once and which school has been to the elite 8 at least once in each of the last 4 decades (under a different head coach each time)?

Your biggest postseason success came over the last 6 years. In that same time, Memphis won more tournament games and advanced farther in 4 of 6 yrs. TN did 1 yr, both lost 1st round this year. The best run in the history of your program and only 2nd best in the state over the same time.

you should quit huffing and puffing so much,,, BBQ breath. It may blow the Mississippi river over Memphis in a giant Sunami. Or better yet, send me your address so i can buy you a phone from 7-11 so you can call someone who cares.

Jesus Christ with the history/tradition bull****. Your school has never won a championship in anything. Nobody cares that you finished 2nd place almost 40 years ago. New material please.

Actually most folks covering the games now say Tommy Bowl rivals the best NBA arenas around....Most who don't think this I find haven't been to a game lately in TBA.... Incredible experience......Not to mention Pratt Pavillion...on the Tennessee River....doesnt get much better anywhere in the country actually....does anyone know of a collegiate arena that has a better setting than UT??? Just asking????

I think we might be best served to hire a well respected assistant coach from a big time college program. Roy Williams got hired to coach Kansas with no prior head coaching experience. He was just a well respected college assistant who came up under Dean Smith. We haven't really even talked at all about that kind of hire.

Transitive property does not work in sports.

I am literally scared having people with your level of intelligence walk the streets of Memphis. Your comments are just mind-boggling.
