First of all I'm not against coach jones any coach would be hard pressed to get max effort out of 30% of the current roster. But why is it every time someone goes to defend him the compare him to saban CBJ is not Nic saban, hell I've even seen one post comparing his programs to harbaughs at Stanford. I think CBJ is getting baptism by fire in the SEC and whether some think the early critisim is crazy or premature we have to remember he's making 3 mil a year to be in that situation.

I think BJ is a good coach but not a great coach. But is he the coach to get Tn back in the national spotlight ? He has 3 years to prove this but from day one I thought he dropped the ball by bringing most of the staff from Cincy with him. I never thought his read option off. would work in the SEC and still don't and so far its pathetic. Then he brings in 2 rejects that was fired from UGA and we are getting the same results from those 2 that the Ga fans were getting from them. But BJ and Saban shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath. I like BJ but not sold on him and the best staff in the country.

Because most of our fans have no grasp on how depleted our talent pool is. We are very close to last in the SEC.

Martinez was chased out of UGA as a defensive coordinator, he has always been a well thought of DB coach and is part of the reason out corners are playing better than we've seen Ut corners play in years. Yes, he was a terrible DC, but we didn't hire him as a DC.

Don't get me wrong. A loss is a loss and I hate to lose. That said, the first thing Coach had to do is get the team to play hard for 60 minutes. Execution may not have been what we want, but the effort was there. Now he has to get them to believe they can win. I actually think we hit bottom yesterday in the first half and made the turn in the 3rd quarter. Now let's see if these kids take to coaching and solve some of our obvious coaching.

To speak to our talent depth. I hope everyone was listening when Mr. Swafford ran the interceiption back. Mr. Swafford is a Walkon. When was the last time a walkon played played in the secondary in a prominent role early in the game?

I havent seen anybody on here comparing CBJ to Nick Saban or Harbaugh what I have seen are posts showing that both of these great coaches had their struggles when they started at Bama and Stanford and just trying to give perspective that even the great ones didn't win right out of the gate. Butch may wind up being an average coach or a great one but it sure as heck takes longer than 4 games to find out. GBO

Jancek was his LB coach while Martinez was DC and our corners got chewed up against Oregon and that is the only team we have played so far that has had a good QB. This Def made Fla backup QB look good.

Don't you think it would take more than 4 games to coach the DBs up? I mean didn't we have a grad assistant that was promoted by dooley as our last db coach

Wait you mean to tell me that our young inexperienced secondary got chewed up by the best offense in the NCAA, well **** Sherlock what a striking revelation. Doesn't change the fact that our corners are a hell of a lot better than anything we saw last year in his very first season

If Saban, Harbaugh, Meyer, or Kelly was in his first year here and had this team our record would still be 2-2. This team short of having the Lord himself coach them could not beat Oregon. I think we "could" have won yesterday, but there is obviously a reason that we were 16 point dogs in that game. Oregon we were what 29?

Let CBJ get his recruits in and lets see what happens. Did anyone honestly think we would win at Oregon or Fla?

Anyone who can't see a difference in a CBJ team and Dooleys are obviously watching a different team than I am.

GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!

You easily say his offense is pathetic, yet he can't even get his offense to run the most basic plays. Guess you want to open up the playbook with a QB who couldn't hit the ocean standing in the ocean and another who turns the ball over every drive? Yeah let's bring out the big guns. Geesh.

Calling the 2 coaches from Georgia rejects shows how illiterate you are about football outside of UT.

He was canned as a DBs coach at OU and AU after being fired at UGA. Suspect track record at best.

The execution is so bad one can't discern the type of offense we are running. :dunno: :ill_h4h:
From a coaching stand point CBJ may face some difficult staff decisions in the future.

With coaching turnover good assistants lose there spots all the time because the new DC wants his people in there. Says very little about Martinez as a coach. If he was so "suspect" he would not continue to get jobs for major BCS AQ teams

No way we are on the bottom. More excuses for a poor performance. We have more talent than KY, Vandy, Missou, MSU, AU, probably Ole Miss as well and USCe.

LO****ingL, we do not have more talent than Auburn, USCe, Ole Miss, and Missouri, Vandy, and MSU are very debatable

Curious how you come to this statement? Assumption? Personal opinion? I looked at Rivals class rankings for the last four years and we have averaged the 15th best class in the country over those 4 years. Is Rivals rankings a bunch of BS? That's a serious question btw. I'm not bashing the coaching staff, just sick of hearing the lack of talent excuse. I don't buy that excuse anymore.
