Wilcox

No there is still a good chance he could leave. Dooley is saying all the right things. No he hasn't been offered the job. He is under consideration. They won't "offer" unless they know its a done deal. This is still a wait and see approach.

I think this will clinch it...
There is an article on GoVolsXtra about Coach Dooley saying that no one has been offered any jobs, so I think Wilcox is staying. Anything can happen in the next couple of weeks, but for now, I think is a safe bet that the staff remains intact. If anyone has the link, feel free to post it.

I think Wilcox is very much in play here. Like I posted earlier, the formal offer usually doesn't come until both sides have all but agreed.

For once, I agree with SGM. However no one can deny that depth and personnel played a role. Our CBs are no way deep enough or good enough, plus young. Undersized and average LBs. Youth, injuries and inexperience plagued the DL.

From GVX:

""Here's all I can tell you," Dooley said. "Nobody on our staff has been offered any jobs, I don't anticipate any staff changes and I'm going to reiterate exactly what I said in (Wednesday's) press conference - it's a fluid industry, and it always is. But I don't anticipate any changes, and nobody on our staff has been offered a job.

"That's where we are. I'm never going to beg people to stay at Tennessee, because this is a great job and there are thousands of coaches that would kill to be here and we're never going to have one coach that's going to be bigger than the program. I think we should expect this every year, so get used to it because it's a good thing. When programs want your coaches, it means your coaches are doing a good job."

Is cjw their first choice?

No, they looked at the guy from UF.. Taryl Austin I think that's his name. The gentleman from Orangebloods.com was on The Sports Animal yesterday. He said that Taryl Austin was presented to the "big wigs" at Texas as being the next Texas DC. He also said that they went as far as to tell some recruits that Taryl Austin was their next DC. Makes you wonder.... is Wilcox a smoke screen until after the bowl game, then they officially announce Austin? Or did the "deal" fall through with Austin and Wilcox is their guy? TIFWIW, just what dude from Orangebloods.com was saying.....

2/3 of VN posters want Wilcox threads to die until December 31st.

I know, I know, don't click on it if you don't want to read it.
