Will rainy weather impact TN offense?

Kirby tried his best to score. A foolish reply to this. Watch the game over. I did and it changed my opinion At first I thought the same way you did but after watching I saw it was more competitive than people give credit for. The rain not only affected Georgia but Tennessee. Georgia did outplay Tennessee Saturday but it wasn't a dominant performance.

Rain, wind and falling temps will certainly make it difficult for both sides of the ball. My main concern is how it may affect throwing the deep ball.

HH may be working out under the sprinklers tonight and tomorrow.

MO is 19th in run defense and 26th in passing yards allowed.
They also gave up nearly 500 yards to Georgia but 2 Georgia turnovers kept it close and almost caused an upset.

So if Tenn scores 50+ on Mizz then you will be back on here saying you were wrong and Tenn actually shut down GA in the second half not the rain. Or no. Go troll somewhere else

Or I can stay right here, where I’ve been for 12 years, and this is the first time I’ve been called a troll. You all are a soft bunch. Can’t handle other views? Sad. Being a fan doesn’t mean you have to pump sunshine all the time.

If Tennessee throws six times in the second half due to rain, then it was all Mizzou’a defense. I hear ya.

sure they did, bro. Sure they did. The point, since you need help here, is that if the rain slows UT's offense down then we can say Mizzou shut them down, since people like you carry that narrative for Ut against UGA.
Look, Georgia played extremely well on defense and was by far the most disciplined team we’ve played so far. But we still had a couple of opportunities to score on deep passes that were slightly overthrown by hooker. Stetson Bennett also was hitting deep passes which is not the norm. It was obvious Georgia was more talented than us, but that game could have been closer had we capitalized on their blown coverages

me too, and I've been mocked for it. People keep saying we shut them down in the second half, when they clearly took the foot off the gas, partly due to rain I'm sure. People say that's speculation on my part and the score tells the story, but I think they dominated us. So, those people must be consistent and credit Mizzou if the rain slows UT down.

The best defense against our offense is to possess the ball and keep our offense on the sideline. That’s what happened except GA couldn’t score the TD and had to settle for a field goal.

Come on man, of course it looked different when you watched it again, that's called confirmation bias. You saw what you wanted to see and what you had been told to see, forgetting how it looked and felt when you watched it live. There is also the ex post facto effect of knowing exactly what was going to happen and then reading back into the scenario.

Secondly, of course Kirby and the offense intended and tried to score on every possession, but that is arguing against a straw man. No one has been saying he was trying to not score or not trying to score, what he and almost all others said is that he altered the game plan to slow it down once we went up by 3 TD after an 8+ minute drive in the third and the rain came.

However, switching from High-risk/High reward calls to mostly low-risk/low-reward calls is not the same as "not trying to score". Yes, your defense stopped our run game after that last FG, but that is not the same as saying you stopped our best game plan and "shut them down" or thwarted the game plan. You guys had not scored a touchdown until the final 4 minutes, so there was no urgency for us to score fast, so we ate the clock and kept your offense off the field. Plan worked. Game over.

Now go win your last 3 games and come at us again, bro. That will be epic!

Back to Mizz. Just hope we can put up at least 40 points and **** them down. I found it interesting they that the committee chair stated the committee watched the the entire game, not just the final score.

That first half was absolutely dominant. The second half we played better on D as I do think we made adjustments and UGA also adjusted. To act like UGA wasn’t trying to score in the second half is ridiculous though and I don’t get why people try to push that narrative. They knew that the best way to protect the lead was to shorten the game so that’s what they did. That’s not “taking your foot off the gas”. That’s just playing smart football. They literally went deep with 4 minutes left to try and score.

Nah. Our guys will know where they are going the defense won’t…..

They will be going for it on 4th down in the 1st half.

It won’t matter Vols by 50.

Win out Vols and then we will be in the playoffs.
