Will rainy weather impact TN offense?

The problem is that the WIND impacted both teams but was used to defend a lack luster performance by only one team.

Just like the rain impacted both UGA and TN.

The wind did not stop blowing when Northwestern had the ball and the rain did not stop when Tennessee had the ball.

Look, Georgia played extremely well on defense and was by far the most disciplined team we’ve played so far. But we still had a couple of opportunities to score on deep passes that were slightly overthrown by hooker. Stetson Bennett also was hitting deep passes which is not the norm. It was obvious Georgia was more talented than us, but that game could have been closer had we capitalized on their blown coverages
Fair enough. Thanks for being respectful and not calling my an “idiot”, “troll” or a “dawg fan”. I enjoy intelligent posts. Thank you.

They were blitzing Tennessee well into the 4th qtr..

That's NOT taking your foot off the gas.

The real question is why do you want to give UGA credit for one thing, but not UT for VERY SAME THING????.
Again, do you all get sarcasm at all?

There is light rain in the forecast, but little wind. Lean on the run game and take some shots, maybe force a TO or two and get up early. From there, pull a Georgia in the second half and shorten the game while shutting them down. 21-0 at the half with a 28-3 final or something like that would do just fine.

Receivers know where they are going (most of the time), and a wet field can be advantageous for receivers if the DB's are trying to react quickly on a wet field. Shorter, quicker passes could likely be a game plan.

My app says winds are light and variable vs 20+mph. I'm good wind winds like that.....passing shouldn't be impacted that much.

Wet and windy sure can effect this style of offense....You'd really like to have a good running game for days like this.

Rain usually helps the offense. The O player knows where he is going while the D player has to react

The cold, home game, and rain/wind will have an impact on the game. As many have said, both teams have to deal with the rainy weather. Follow Neyland’s Maxims like holding on to the ball and turning them over and we will be 9-1. I hope they go with the quick slants this week and not throw the ball up into a significant wind. Defense even more important in these kinda games. Go Vols!

me too, and I've been mocked for it. People keep saying we shut them down in the second half, when they clearly took the foot off the gas, partly due to rain I'm sure. People say that's speculation on my part and the score tells the story, but I think they dominated us. So, those people must be consistent and credit Mizzou if the rain slows UT down.

More of our same bend but don’t break style we have had to employ this year. Red zone is what red zone is. Granted GA did not want to run high risk plays. We gave up one score on a certified bust. Take that off and what do you have?

GA was the better team at home with lots more recruiting stars in their quiver. Thankfully they can only play 11 at a time. But depth is what it is. Bottom line I have no use for moral victories NOR moral defeats. You are what your record says you are. The score is what it is. They outgained us by I think 102 yards. It is all real.

Reality was not lost on you nor me and I suspect many others who just won't say it out loud.

It was a single game on a specific night under certain conditions. The next game starts at 0-0 and each team will have 60 minutes to do everything they can to beat the other. I am happy to finally watch the SEC-E have the best teams in the conference instead of the west. I'm just happier that UGA appears to be the "bestest". Two SEC East teams in the NC will be epic and a bold statement to the rest of the NCAA about how we do things on this side of the Conference !

Gawd, do we really need a freaking georgia fan on our board? I mean, we've had a few Florida guys for years and they are respectful and have worthwhile posts, for the most part, but a georgia fan? Especially a freaking know it all psychologist. If any of you have the misfortune of wandering into the comments section on Saturday Down South articles, you'll see the likely outcome. Georgia posters are the most obnoxious and insulting of any school's fans.

You left out the most arrogant. It's not even close.

At this point, I avoid the comments section of SDS because of the Georgia posters and some idiot who calls himself 'gwhite' who is evidently a UT fan but is an embarrassment to us.

Looking at Missouri injury report, their RB Badie is listed as out, along with several others. If I remember correctly, he was a factor in their offense last year. Does anybody have injury report for UT?

Maybe I’m in the minority, but think GA whipped us. Regardless of the score, GA moved the ball at will and had the ball 9 min in 3rd qtr. It was a butt whipping. And I love my Vols!
All I know is their punter looked like Ray Guy, their walkon QB looked like Joe Montana, and our Heisman candidate QB looked very avg. I'm not sure that will play out the same in round 2.
